The claims are unsubstantiated, if BD has evidence, give it to Pakistan, hell, show it to the world. You want to know why they don't? Because it doesn't exist, and AL is only doing this to appease it's fanatical loyalists. Relations between Pakistan and Bangladesh have recently been at a low point. -AFP/File
ISLAMABAD: In a fresh diplomatic row between Pakistan and Bangladesh, a Pakistani High Commission official based in Dhaka was declared persona non grata by the Bangladeshi government and was asked to leave the country.

"Diplomatic official Mazhar Khan was charged by Bangladesh's foreign ministry of running an illegal Indian currency business in Dhaka beside alleged links with militants," a diplomatic source told Dawn.com.

Foreign Office Spokesperson Tasneem Aslam also confirmed the incident and said the official has reached Islamabad.

"Allegations against him are baseless and the incident is unfortunate," she told Dawn.com.

The Pakistan High Commission in Dhaka sent Mazhar Khan immediately home after getting orders from Bangladesh's ministry of foreign affairs.

Sources also said the high commission in Dhaka has not only been under pressure due to the incident but is also being closely watched by Bangladeshi secret services.

Relations between the two countries have recently been at a low point.

In January, Bangladeshi police arrested four suspected members of Islamic State in Dhaka including a regional coordinator for the militant group who told police they had been trained in Pakistan.

Tensions have also risen between the two countries over executions carried out by the government of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina against alleged war criminals from the 1971 war, when the former East Pakistan became Bangladesh.

In December 2013, Pakistan’s envoy in Dhaka had been summoned by the govt regarding a resolution adopted by the Pakistani parliament condemning the execution of Jamaat leader Abdul Quader Molla for his involvement in alleged war crimes of 1971.

Bangladesh's foreign ministry had said that Molla’s trial and punishment was the country’s internal affair and that the resolution adopted by Pakistan’s National Assembly was uncalled for.

Pakistan’s high commissioner in Dhaka, Mian Afrasiab Mehdi Hashmi Qureshi had been summoned to explain the matter.

Pakistan’s armed forces are alleged to have carried out war crimes in1971 and the Bangladesh government has been seeking a public apology from Pakistan which is yet to abide by the demand of its South Asian neighbour officially.

ঢাকায় পাকিস্তানী হাইকমিশনের কর্মকর্তার বাংলাদেশবিরোধী তৎপরতার প্রমাণ আর বিএনপি চেয়ারপার্সন খালেদা জিয়ার নাশকতার নির্দেশের খবরে দেশজুড়ে তোলপাড় শুরু হয়েছে। সরকারের কেন্দ্র থেকে শুরু করে সামাজিক যোগাযোগ মাধ্যমেও বইছে সমালোচনার ঝড়। বাংলাদেশবিরোধী কর্মকা-ের জন্য এক দিকে দাবি উঠেছে পাকিস্তানী কূটনীতিকের বিষয়ে কঠোর ব্যবস্থা গ্রহণের অন্যদিকে বিএনপি-জামায়াত নেতাদের সহিংসতার নির্দেশ দেয়ায় দাবি উঠেছে খালেদা জিয়াকে গ্রেফতারের। অবিলম্বে পাকিস্তান সরকারকে কঠোর হুঁশিয়ারি বার্তা পাঠানোর জন্য সরকারের প্রতি আহ্বান জানিয়েছে একাত্তরের ঘাতক দালাল নির্মূল কমিটি। বিশেষজ্ঞরা বলছেন, পাকিস্তান এখনও তাদের এদেশীয় এজেন্টদের মাধ্যমে বাংলাদেশকে জঙ্গীবাদী পাকিস্তান বানানোর চক্রান্ত অব্যাহত রেখেছে। পাকিস্তানী কূটনীতিকদের ‘ইন্ধনে’ জামায়াতকে নিয়ে বিএনপি দেশে ‘নাশকতা’ চালিয়ে যাচ্ছে বলেও অভিযোগ উঠেছে।
গণমাধ্যমে পাকিস্তানী কূটনীতিকের বাংলাদেশবিরোধী তৎপরতার প্রমাণসহ খবর এবং নেতাকর্মীদের নাশকতার জন্য খালেদা জিয়ার নির্দেশের টেলিফোন আলাপ ছড়িয়ে পড়ায় বিষয়টিই ছিল সোমবার ‘টক অব দ্য কান্ট্রি’। একাধিক গণমাধ্যমে প্রকাশ করা হয় ঢাকায় পাকিস্তানী হাইকমিশনের কর্মকর্তার বাংলাদেশবিরোধী তৎপরতার তথ্যপ্রমাণ। যেখানে বলা হয়, ঢাকায় পাকিস্তান হাইকমিশনের সহকারী ভিসা কর্মকর্তা মোহাম্মদ মাযহার খানের বিরুদ্ধে বাংলাদেশবিরোধী ভয়ঙ্কর তৎপরতার তথ্য-প্রমাণ পেয়েছে গোয়েন্দা কর্মকর্তারা। আর এ নিয়ে সরকারের উচ্চপর্যায়ে চলছে তোলপাড়। মাযহার খানকে পুলিশ জানুয়ারি মাসে হাতেনাতে আটক করলেও পরে হাইকমিশনের তৎপরতায় বনানী থানা থেকে মুক্ত হন তিনি। গোয়েন্দা অনুসন্ধানে পাকিস্তান হাইকমিশনের এ কর্মকর্তার জঙ্গী কানেকশনের পাশাপাশি বিভিন্ন অপতৎপরতার তথ্যপ্রমাণ মিলেছে। এ ঘটনায় দ্রুত সময়ের মধ্যে মাযহার খানকে বাংলাদেশ থেকে বহিষ্কারের পাশাপাশি এ দেশে অবস্থানকারী পাকিস্তানী নাগরিকদের ওপর নজরদারি বৃদ্ধি করার জোর সুপারিশ করা হয়েছে গোয়েন্দা প্রতিবেদনে। গোয়েন্দা কর্মকর্তারা বলেছেন, কূটনৈতিক সম্পর্কের কারণে বিষয়গুলো সতর্কতার সঙ্গে পর্যালোচনা করা হচ্ছে। জানা গেছে, গোপন তথ্যের ভিত্তিতে ১২ জানুয়ারি সন্ধ্যায় ঢাকার বনানীর মৈত্রী মার্কেট এলাকায় অভিযান চালিয়ে আটক করা হয় মাযহার খান ও মজিবুর রহমান নামের দু’জনকে। আটক হওয়ার মুহূর্তে মাযহার কিছু কাগজ ছিঁড়ে ফেলেন। সেগুলো পরে একত্রিত করলে তাতে বেশ কিছু বাংলাদেশী পাসপোর্ট নম্বর ও নাম দেখতে পায় পুলিশ। পরে, এসব তথ্য যাচাই-বাছাই শেষ হওয়ার আগেই রাতে পাকিস্তান হাইকমিশনের প্রথম সচিব সামিনা মাহতাব বনানী থানায় উপস্থিত হয়ে মাযহার খানকে নিজ হেফাজতে নিয়ে যান। পরবর্তীতে গোয়েন্দা অনুসন্ধানে জানা যায়, মাযহার খানের হেফাজত থেকে উদ্ধার করা ছেঁড়া কাগজে যেসব ব্যক্তির পাসপোর্ট নম্বর ছিল- তাদের মধ্যে তিনজন নিষিদ্ধ ঘোষিত জঙ্গী সংগঠন হিযবুত তাহ্রীরের সঙ্গে সরাসরি সম্পৃক্ত। জিজ্ঞাসাবাদকালে মজিবুর রহমান জানান, দূতাবাসে একই পদের আগের কর্মকর্তার মাধ্যমে মাযহার খানের সঙ্গে তার পরিচয়। গত এক দশকে মজিবুর ২২ বার পাকিস্তান, ১১ বার ভারত ও ২২ বার থাইল্যান্ড ভ্রমণ করেছেন।
সর্বশেষ মাযহার এক লাখ ৮০ হাজার ভারতীয় জাল রুপী মজিবুরকে দিয়েছিলেন বাংলাদেশের বিভিন্ন স্থানে ছড়িয়ে দেয়ার জন্য। গোয়েন্দারা অনুসন্ধানে নিশ্চিত হয়েছেন, মাযহার খানের সঙ্গে বাংলাদেশের বিভিন্ন মহলের লোকজনের যোগাযোগ রয়েছে। তাদের মধ্যে, সেনাবাহিনীর অবসরপ্রাপ্ত কর্মকর্তা, পুলিশের কর্মকর্তা, ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় ও অন্যান্য কয়েকটি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের শিক্ষক, পাকিস্তান ইন্টারন্যাশনাল এয়ারলাইন্সের (পিআইএ) কর্মকর্তা এবং বিভিন্ন ব্যবসায়ী ও সীমান্তবর্তী এলাকায় বসবাসরত বিশেষ করে লালমনিরহাট, ঠাকুরগাঁও, যশোর, বেনাপোল এলাকার বাংলাদেশী নাগরিক রয়েছেন।
সোমবার এ ঘটনা নিয়ে দেশজুড়ে যখন তোলপাড় শুরু হয় ঠিক সেই সময়েই অনলাইনে ছড়িয়ে পড়ে বিভিন্ন সময়ে বিএনপি-জামায়াত নেতাদের দেয়া বিএনপি চেয়ারপার্সন খালেদা জিয়ার অন্তত পাঁচটি ফোনালাপের ঘটনা। বিষয়টি অনলাইন জগতের হওয়ায় সকাল থেকেই সামাজিক যোগাযোগ মাধ্যমসহ সকল মাধ্যমে ব্যাপক আলোচনার জন্ম দেয়। ‘বাংলা লিকস’ নামের একটি এ্যাকাউন্ট থেকে আপলোড করা এসব কথোপকথন সোশ্যাল মিডিয়ায় ব্যাপক আলোচনার জন্ম দিয়েছে। খালেদার এসব নির্দেশ নাশকতা ঘটানোর উদ্দেশ্যেইÑ এমন কথা রয়েছে অডিও ফাইলগুলোর শিরোনামে। ৫ জানুয়ারি কার্যালয় থেকে বের হওয়ার পথে বাধার মুখে খালেদা জিয়া। এরপর লাগাতার অবরোধের ডাক দেন তিনি, যাতে নাশকতায় প্রাণ হারিয়েছেন প্রায় অর্ধশত মানুষ। চার বছর আগে ঢাকায় বিএনপির একটি সমাবেশের সময় দলের কয়েক নেতার সঙ্গে চেয়ারপার্সন খালেদা জিয়ার কয়েকটি টেলিফোন সংলাপের অডিও টেপ ঘুরছে ইউটিউবে, যাতে তাঁকে নেতাদের নানা নির্দেশ দিতে শোনা যায়। কথোপকথনে বিএনপির জোটসঙ্গী জামায়াতে ইসলামীকে সক্রিয় করতেও একজনকে নির্দেশ দেন খালেদা। জামায়াতকে বলেন, ওদের লোকজন নামাই দিতে বলেন। শুধু ঢাকায় না, সব জায়গায়। খালেদা ছাড়াও বিএনপি নেতা আমানউল্লাহ আমান, সাদেক হোসেন খোকা, মারুফ কামাল খান ও খালেদা জিয়ার কার্যালয়ের দু’জন কর্মচারীকেও টেলিফোনের অন্যপ্রান্তে নাশকতা চালানোর নির্দেশ দেয়া সংবলিত কথোপকথন পাওয়া যাচ্ছে ইউটিউবটির ওই এ্যাকাউন্টে। এদিকে দেশজুড়ে তোলপাড় শুরু হওয়া এ খালেদা জিয়ার কথোপকথন নিয়ে সোমবার আলোচনা হয়েছে মন্ত্রিসভার বৈঠকেও। সোমবার মন্ত্রিসভার নিয়মিত এই বৈঠকে প্রধানমন্ত্রী শেখ হাসিনাকে ওই ফোনালাপগুলো শোনানো হয় বলে জানিয়েছেন একাধিক মন্ত্রী। ফোনালাপ শুনে প্রধানমন্ত্রী বলেন, ‘সত্যি সত্যিই তো উনি (খালেদা জিয়া) নাশকতার নির্দেশ দিয়েছেন। বৈঠকের আলোচ্যসূচী শেষ হওয়ার পর অনির্ধারিত আলোচনার সময় সভাকক্ষে বসেই ফোনালাপের অডিওগুলো শোনেন শেখ হাসিনা। মন্ত্রিসভার বৈঠকে সিনিয়র মন্ত্রীদের পাশাপাশি প্রতিমন্ত্রীরাও খালেদা জিয়ার নির্দেশে ওই সময় যারা নাশকতায় অংশ নিয়েছিল, তাদের গ্রেফতারের দাবি জানান। দুপুরে এক অনুষ্ঠানে খাদ্যমন্ত্রী কামরুল ইসলাম অভিযোগ করে বলেছেন, পাকিস্তানী কূটনীতিকদের ‘ইন্ধনে’ বিএনপি নেতৃত্বাধীন ২০ দলীয় জোট দেশে ‘নাশকতা’ করছে। পাকিস্তানী কূটনীতিকরা বাংলাদেশে নাশকতায় ইন্ধন যোগাচ্ছে এমন অভিযোগ করে খাদ্যমন্ত্রী আরও বলেন, বাংলাদেশে পাকিস্তানী কূটনীতিকরা নাশকতার ইন্ধন যোগাচ্ছে। তাদের এজেন্ডা স্পষ্ট হয়েছে। বিএনপি নেতৃত্বাধীন ২০ দলীয় জোট পাকিস্তানী কূটনীতিকদের ইন্ধনে দেশের মধ্যে নাশকতা করছে। আওয়ামী লীগের প্রচার ও প্রকাশনা সম্পাদক ড. হাছান মাহমুদ বলেছেন, যারা খালেদা জিয়ার ইন্টারনেট ও টেলিফোন লাইন কেটে দিয়েছে তাদের ধন্যবাদ জানাই। কারণ খালেদা জিয়া নিজেই সহিংসতার নির্দেশ দিতেন, এ তথ্য আমাদের কাছে আছে। তিনি (খালেদা জিয়া) এখন সন্ত্রাসী ও নৈরাজ্যের নেত্রী হয়ে গেছেন। আন্তর্জাতিক সন্ত্রাসী গোষ্ঠীর সঙ্গে যুক্ত হয়েছেন তিনি।
অন্যদিকে অবিলম্বে পাকিস্তান সরকারকে কঠোর হুঁশিয়ারি বার্তা পাঠানোর জন্য সরকারের প্রতি আহ্বান জানিয়েছে একাত্তরের ঘাতক দালাল নির্মূল কমিটি। বাংলাদেশে জামায়াত-বিএনপির চলমান সন্ত্রাস ও নাশকতার সঙ্গে পাকিস্তানী দূতাবাসের সম্পৃক্ততার বিরুদ্ধে তীব্র ক্ষোভ ও নিন্দা জ্ঞাপন করেছে সংগঠনটি। সংগঠনের সভাপতি বিচারপতি মোহাম্মদ গোলাম রাব্বানী, ভারপ্রাপ্ত সভাপতি শাহরিয়ার কবির ও সাধারণ সম্পাদক কাজী মুকুল কর্তৃক স্বাক্ষরিত এক বিবৃতিতে বলা হয়েছে, কয়েকটি জাতীয় দৈনিকে ভারতীয় মুদ্রা জাল এবং জঙ্গীদের অর্থায়নের জন্য পাকিস্তানের দূতাবাসের একজন কূটনীতিক মোহাম্মদ মাযহার খানের গ্রেফতার এবং ‘কূটনৈতিক সুবিধা’র সুযোগে তাকে থানা থেকে ছাড়িয়ে নিয়ে যাওয়ার সংবাদ আমাদের অত্যন্ত উদ্বিগ্ন ও ক্ষুব্ধ করেছে। আমরা মনে করি এহেন ভয়ঙ্কর অপরাধের সঙ্গে যুক্ত ব্যক্তিরা কোনভাবেই ‘কূটনীতিকের সুবিধা’ পেতে পারেন না। বাংলাদেশ সরকারের উচিত এ বিষয়ে পাকিস্তান সরকারকে কঠোর হুঁশিয়ারি বার্তা পাঠানোর পাশাপাশি উক্ত কূটনীতিকের যাবতীয় মর্যাদা ও সুবিধা বাতিলের দাবি জানানো। পাকিস্তান যদি এই ব্যক্তির কূটনৈতিক মর্যাদা ও সুবিধা বাতিল না করে, ধরে নিতে হবে এ ঘটনা পাকিস্তান সরকার ও তাদের দূতাবাসের জ্ঞাতসারেই ঘটেছে।
দেশের এ বিশিষ্ট নাগরিকরা আরও বলেন, আমরা দীর্ঘকাল ধরে বলছি, পাকিস্তানের সামরিক গোয়েন্দা সংস্থা আইএসআই বাংলাদেশে পাকিস্তানী দূতাবাস এবং বিভিন্ন এনজিওর মাধ্যমে এদেশের জঙ্গীদের অর্থায়নসহ সবরকম পৃষ্ঠপোষকতা করছে। এ বিষয়ে গোয়েন্দা তথ্যের ভিত্তিতে পাকিস্তানী কূটনীতিক মাযহার খানের গ্রেফতার এবং তাকে দ্রুত ছাড়িয়ে নিয়ে পাকিস্তানে ফেরত পাঠানোর ঘটনা আবারও প্রমাণ করেছে পাকিস্তান এখনও তাদের এদেশীয় এজেন্টদের মাধ্যমে বাংলাদেশকে দ্বিতীয় পাকিস্তান বানানোর চক্রান্ত অব্যাহত রেখেছে।
এছাড়া তোলপাড় চলছে ফেসবুকসহ সামাজিক যোগাযোগ মাধ্যমেও। আকবর হোসেন তাঁর ফেসবুক ওয়ালে স্ট্যাটাস দিয়েছেন এই বলে যে, বাংলাদেশে কোন পাকিস্তানী দূতাবাস থাকার দরকার আছে বলে আমি মনে করি না। তবে এই দেশের প্রতিটা মানুষের মনের মাঝে থেকে যেদিন পাকিস্তান নামের ভূত ঝেঁটিয়ে বিদায় করা যাবে, সেদিনই স্বাধীনতা অর্থবহ হয়ে উঠবে। তার আগে নয়। রওশন বলেছেন, ইসরাইলের সঙ্গে আমাদের যেমন সম্পর্ক নেই ঠিক তেমনিভাবে পাকিস্তানের সঙ্গেও আমাদের সম্পর্ক ছিন্ন করা উচিত। এ ধরনের তৎপরতার কোন ছাড় নাই। আর দেশের নিরাপত্তার স্বার্থে পাকিদের সঙ্গে কূটনৈতিক সম্পর্ক সীমিত করা দরকার... এবং এদেশে পাকিদের ভ্রমণ নিষিদ্ধ করা উচিত...।

I dont think so sir,That man was caught in redhanded by BD authorities.He is a consular person .AFAIK the usual procedure would be withdrawing accused from that nation.Thats all.

Which were never proven. India has far too much influence in South Asia, and it has successfully cut of Pakistani influence in the region, and make it a pariah. Almost every single allegation can be traced back to India's growing hegemony, one way or another.
