this is a good briefTurkey will never shoot itself in the foot. They are far intelligent to do such a thing. Although I am not aware of the ground realities in Turkey but in my opinion the industrial base of Turkey is much stronger than that of Pakistan. Companies like these have a large customer base. They must have orders from their clients which will keep them busy for years. They must have realized that they might not meet the deadlines with their current production capacity. So instead of being late they gave us TOT because we can fulfill our requirements and they can concentrate on their normal clients. It is a win win situation for both parties.
That is the price we have to pay for not having a strong and high technology industrial base. Besides nobody gives technology to others on a plate unless it serves their national interest. It is in the interest of Suzuki, Toyota and Honda to keep the high tech. parts to themselves. How much technology and what level of technology the Turks will transfer to us remains to be seen.this is a good brief
and I would agree with that but there is a confusion with TOT
giving us the plant ans spares to assemble the equipment and manufacture some of the common parts is not TOT
otherwise I dont know what we will call our sazuki, toyta and honda plants in Pakistan? they simply assemble some makor components and source some trivial items locally that wont dent the brand name of the japan if we do the Pakistani thing and dope them with substandard or trash items just the way we add stuff in our food products
Turkey is also giving us technology of latest systems they are putting in there Altay and upgradation of their Leopard II @Neptune I 4 x 4 will be used by our newly formed Anti Terrorist squads or you can call them SWAT and Para MilitaryThat is the price we have to pay for not having a strong and high technology industrial base. hence I would change "TOT" (claim) with assembly plant. That is the price we have to pay for not having a strong and high technology industrial base. I am not we were looking for new such machines for our newly developed SWAT and Armed ForcesMr. Zarvan is becoming another Nishan 101
While US and Europe may embargo spare parts in a crisis, at least we can trust Turkey to keep supplies of spare parts open in a crises. In terms of defence equipment we should have rock solid friends we can trust.hence I would change "TOT" (claim) with assembly plant.
it makes economic sense to source something better from a friendly/ allied nation which is much better rather than ceating it ourselves and just concentrate on other subsystems.
prime example.
Abrams .. the gun is German and the armor technology is British. Americans could have done same or eventually better but why bother? they did everything themselves and have a top tier tank in the world. Swedish SAAB jets yet another example.
I wont loose any sleep over why we are using Toyota chesses or engine in our own POF armoured vehicles. there is much more to an end product than the sum of its parts, its the right mix and design. if the Turkish vehicle in its entirety serves our purpose then fine and if we get to assemble it ourselves with our own setup/ mods then it will be even better
this is a good brief
