The India-Pakistan border issue has a long history and is also a major factor hindering the further development of bilateral relations. Shortly after taking office, Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan wrote to Indian Prime Minister Modi, hoping to ease relations between the two countries, but India did not appreciate it. On the 21st local time, Pakistan once again shouted to India, hoping that India can adopt a peace process and avoid provocative speech.
According to Indian media Zee News, on the 21st local time, Pakistani Army Commander Qamar Javed Bajwa accused India of continuing to make provocative remarks and violating the ceasefire agreement, hoping that India can adopt a path of peace and progress and avoid re-publishing excessive remarks.
It is understood that the exchange of fire between India and Pakistan in Kashmir has been intermittent for many years, but there has not been much substantive progress in solving the problem. In 2017 alone, there were 860 border conflicts in the region between India and Pakistan, causing a large number of soldiers and civilian casualties.
Recently, Pakistani Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi said in a speech that he hopes to make progress in peace talks with India in 2019. A few days ago, Prime Minister Imran Khan also said that he will once again extend a hand of friendship to India next year. Imran Khan said that he tried to throw an olive branch to India shortly after taking office, but he was rejected by the Indian side.
In September, Imran Khan sent a letter to Indian Prime Minister Modi. The letter called on the two countries to restart the deadlocked dialogue. It not only proposed that the two foreign ministers meet during the UN General Assembly, but also invited Modi to visit Pakistan and attend the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation summit. However, Modi’s reaction was not positive. Although it was confirmed that the foreign ministers of the two countries will meet, it is emphasized that the meeting does not mean “restarting the dialogue” and refuses to participate in the SAARC summit.

In fact, at the UN General Assembly held at the end of September, India unilaterally canceled the meeting between the two foreign ministers and cooled the relationship between the two countries. (Overseas network Wei Xueyu)
