Armoured Engineer Reconnaissance Vehicle

The Armoured Engineer Reconnaissance Vehicle (AERV) is an Indian military engineering vehicle developed by Vehicle Research and Development Establishment, Ahmednagar jointly with Research and Development Establishment, Pune, in coordination with C-TEC, as per the QRs of the Indian Army for enabling the combat engineers to conduct recce operations. It is manufactured by Ordnance Factory Medak. The AERV is based on Sarath's hull (License produced variant of Russian BMP-2) and is designed to carry out terrestrial and riverbed survey to facilitate construction of assault bridges across water obstacles in both offensive and defensive operations in plains, desert and reverine terrain. It has no gun and is fitted with specialised equipment, including an echo-sounder, a water current meter, a laser range finder and GPS. On the left rear of the hull, a marking system with 40 rods is fitted. The AERVs have achieved limited series production and have entered service with the Corps of Engineers.

The strength of the Indian and Pakistani armed forces-India News - IBNLive Mobile

The number of Indian Army Corps is 9 while Pakistan has 8 Corps. The Indian Army has
13 lakh soldiers while Pakistan army has 6 lakh soldiers. Indian has over 8 lakh
combatants as reserves while Pakistan has 5 lakh. Indian Army has over 4100 main battle tanks while Pakistan has nearly 2500 of these
fighting machines. The Indian Air Force (1,70,000 combatants) has a strength of over
700 fighters and bombers apart from 20 attack helicopters. Pakistan (45,000) has over
400 combat aircraft. The Indian Navy comprising of 55,000 troops is way ahead of its
Pakistani counterpart with one aircraft carrier, 17 submarines including the nuclear
powered INS Chakra and over 20 other battleships. Pakistani Navy has 25,000 soldiers and about 16 ships. But sources say that more than the military strength it is the strategy and the quality of
leadership that determines the winner of a combat.
India can do three strikes corps with armoured divisions while Pakistan has only two. The two countries share a long border and the Pakistani armed forces are only geared
to fight India. So, experts don't see much difference in the capability of the armed forces
of the two countries. But Indian Air Force has far better capability than Pakistan's. India has 12 air bases
where MiGs, Jaguars, Sukhois and Mirage fighters as based. On the other hand the
Pakistan Air force has only 7 air bases where the Mirage, JF and F-16 fighters as
stationed. But Pakistan is ahead of India in terms of the modern AWACS aircraft. The use of AWACS
planes is extremely important in modern warfare as they are equipped with radar and
can give information about enemy planes, ships and missiles. India currently has only
three AWACS while Pakistan has nine of these planes. Pakistan is reported to have 90 to 100 nuclear warheads while India has about 80
warheads. The two countries are almost at par in terms of missiles.

Excellent stats this will send shiver to the spines & a panic attack to the Pakistanis but they already know that plus their media has already admitted that Indian Armed forces are far more superior than the Pakistan Armed forces.

this sounds more relevant... lol

Lol douchebag.

That's why your superior kangri force got kick a** beating in Kargil & other wars.

hindis are really funny, funny guy.

AN/TPQ-37 Firefinder radar

Hughes AN/TPQ-37 Firefinder Weapon Locating System[1] is a mobile radar system developed[when?] by Hughes Aircraft Company and currently manufactured by ThalesRaytheonSystems. The system is a long-range version of “weapon-locating radar,” designed to detect and track incoming artillery and rocket fire to determine the point of origin for counter-battery fire. It is currently in service at brigade and higher levels in the United States Army and by other countries. The radar is trailer-mounted and towed by a 2⅓-ton truck. A typical AN/TPQ-37 system consists of the Antenna-Transceiver Group, Command Shelter and 60 kW Generator.

well AESW based radar and AESW radars are different like stealth and stealthy jets are....
P3-Cs radar is also AESW based if that was soo than PN will not have ordered a P3-C with AESW radar upgrade...
well u r using Soviet era AESW system and u have more airspace to cover soo at this stage u need to improve ur AESW capabilities...
well if u have sentery then u may have the edge.....
well my basic point of discussion was not to compare AESW system...
discuss this frm writer.....
bt u seriously need more AWACS system...

lol.. if your forces are super duper supreme over Indian Army, why did your then PM Nawaz Sherif flow country to country and asked them ti intervene during Kargil war? And, your long time friend USA and even your all weather friend Chine refused to help you? And, why did your army said they are not PA personnel in Kargil and declined to give even the final respect to those killed in the war?

You are the real Funny guy... lol

Who's fault is it that your country didn't prepare properly? You should have deployed your forces in both sectors judiciously, and made India fight a two front war. As @Bhairava once said, after failing the exam, if you make up excuses that you didn't prepare properly, you have still failed. It does you no credit to boast about how badly you planned your force deployments.

As for the presence of "resistance fighters", it is another feather in India's cap that RAW was able to train and organize mukti bahini batallions right under your nose.

It wasn't a foreign population by the way. It was your country. Why they were hostile to you is for you to ponder.

Dude, i guess you didn't understand my point....the issue is that Eastern wing ultimately had to separate...it was impossible for even a super power to defend it militarily without any resupplies....do u know the troops sent there...flew to srilanka, then to thailand or somewhere in south east asia..and then to eastern wing...It was absolute stupidity to even have it part of the country. Pakistan resolution 1940 and Allama Iqbal's vision and Ch Rehmat Ali all envisioned more than one state for muslims of subcontinent....Rehmat Ali said ( Punjab,Afghania, Kashmir, Sindh , baluchisTAN) would be Pakistan...and yes that included Indian Punjab too,...but the non muslim poppulation of eastern punjab didn't support it....Iqbal wanted the northwestern block of provinces to be made into a new state...and 1940 resolution envisioned one or more than one state for muslims. It was all due the moves of British..that we got Pakistan in two wings. The five regions of Pakistan shared a common culture...Bengalis were as alien to us as the arabs are..imagine...2000km to the east..if we go 2000km to the west from Pakistan...it would be Jordan..lol..it was absolute stupidity to have country in two parts...Ayub khan actually wanted to make eastern part independent..under a loose federation...but the Bengali leaders never agreed.
