What's new

Pakistan, Turkey sign three documents elevating defence industry cooperation to a new level

. .
Divert the discussion when proved wrong.

I made a point to your claim of bed hopping , and I stick to it.Bed Hopping is required by nations who depend upon some kind of charity.

As for exporting , what's happening , is happening. I don't deny that part.
Nonsense, first acquire the comprehension to comprehend whom and what did i reply to before jumping into the discussion.... so do you agree with your cousin that since Pakistan is going for Turkish goods, it translates by Indian weird logic of divorcing China. !!! by that virtue, Indian basanti is indeed bed hopping.

HMMM going to wit 10 years for the first prototype. Interesting

Turkey needs to ensure the jet is under $100 million each price tag if it wants alot of order from the the middle east and sub content.

"Pakistan and Turkey are about to spend a great deal of time on the defense industry, and with the approach of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan," Turkey should produce a national war plane, "Turkey will start to produce its own national war plane in 10 years. First, the Pakistan Aeronautical Complex (PAC) will provide support for the integration of our factory, and the second phase will be a business alliance with the British Air Force, and at that point we will be the partner of this program in Pakistan. "
.
any idea what business alliance?
tfx?

This is the most important bit.

If I understand correctly, we are looking at TFX converted into a Joint fighter between Turkey, Pakistan and UK, just like we build the JF17s with China. Recent Royal Air force chief visit was perhaps related to this. I dont think we are looking for Eurofighter, but beyond that.

I doubt if the UK will be a 'partner' in a joint venture. More likely provide assistance like a sub-contractor.

Where have been?

Above quote is translated from Turkish so in my best guess, it is about TAI & BAE contract.

iv'e been nowhere i just dont reply as often.

Google Translate has been interpreting 'agreements' or 'contracts' as "business alliances." I think the MoDP told AA that Pakistan (i.e. PAC/PAF) will talk to the British side, and if that's successful, Pakistan could become a TFX partner.
i dont understand, the tfx wont be ready till easily 2033. if they are going for two options j31/tfx then it would make sense but sticking to the tfx is purely crazy.

the tfx will be ready tfx in the same time frame as the indian amca 2030-35

scratch what i said

Kotil said TAI will employ 10,000 engineers when its fighter program takes off. It currently employs 2,000. The TF-X, an indigenous fighter jet Turkey plans to develop and build with British Aerospace Industries (BAE), will make its maiden flight by 2023 and enter service by 2029. The TF-X will be a supersonic, low-fuel, low-cost, long-range, stealth fighter with double-engine, Kotil said. One of the program’s spill-over benefits will be to earn Turkey’s local industry new capabilities, like producing aerospace-grade titanium and aluminium as well as advanced equipment and testing technologies.

TAI signed May 10 a second development contract with BAE. Under the four-year contract, BAE will provide TAI with up to 150 engineers a year for the design and development phase of the TF-X. “We’ll see if the first four years will yield desirable progress to sign for another four years,” Kotil said.

TAI and BAE signed Jan. 28 a $125 million “Heads of Agreement” to collaborate on the first development phase of the planned fifth-generation fighter jet. “There is no fifth generation fighter jet in Europe. It would be in European governments’ interest to join our program,” said Kotil. “We want a fighter which we can sell to any buyer without any restrictions [export licenses from foreign countries].”

I agree going in the TFX and ignoring J-31 makes no sense whats so ever, one if ready to be tested by PAF now the other jets first prototype is 10 years away.

Everything we learnt with co production of he jf17 goes down the drain if we choose TFX. China Pak collaboration on jets clearly works seeing as PAF is getting export orders why ditch them now for TFX. If it aint broke dont fix it.

The I-class frigate will be configured with a Mk.41 vertical launch system with the RIM-162 Evolved Sea Sparrow Missile. Both classes of vessels will be armed with one 76 mm main gun, two 12.7 mm guns, Mk. 46 lightweight anti-submarine warfare torpedoes, and RIM-116 Rolling Airframe Missile. It will also feature a hangar and flight deck for a naval utility helicopter.

The official said the deal with Pakistan, valued at about $1 billion, will involve four Ada-class ships weighing 2-2.5 tons.

“We cannot offer a vessel with Sea Sparrow missile capabilities to a non-NATO country,” the official said. “Hence the suitability of the Ada-class vessels for Pakistan.”

Turkey substantially saved in its I-class program by re-using the Ada-class platforms. Naval experts also say hull commonality will lead to maintenance savings in infrastructure.
