Pakistan to US: Don't cross the 'red lines'

Various Pakistani newspapers and analysts have commented on the ongoing saga of the drone strikes and America’s obsession with North Waziristan. If its not thing, its the other. It is a never ending battle, and the “do more” mantra wont end with North Waziristian. Already there are murmurs about Quetta, and Khyber Pakhtunkhawa.

It was wise of General Kayani to draw the red-lines for America. Shireen Mazari of the Nation describes it eloquently as in an editorial. Ms. Mazari comments on the Washington Post story.

The Washington Post’s story about stiff resistance being put up by COAS General Kayani to the American “entreaties” for launching a ground operation in North Waziristan is welcome news, for which he deserves the nation’s highest acclaim. The US might perceive the Agency as a source of recruitment for Afghan resistance or the Pashtuns living there providing safe havens to the militants fighting against it in Afghanistan, but for Pakistan that’s quite a different kettle of fish. The North Waziristanis are our own nationals, and any military action against them has to be well grounded on the reality of the situation and the threat the situation poses to our over-all security. For the US, however, it is only the anxiety to make a quick and honourable exit from the all-devouring slough that, it has learnt with a painful lesson, Afghanistan has turned out to be. Thus, the General’s conclusion, underlining the ‘gap between short-term US concerns and Pakistan’s long-term interests’. As a ‘strategic ally’ of Pakistan, the US should not be feeling vexed at his defence of its national interests; rather, it must appreciate his attitude and help achieve the objective.

According to press reports, the Americans have found General Kayani to be tough cookie and a very tough nut to crack. General Kayani has stuck to his guns and will not budge. This augers will for General Kayani and for Pakistan.
Ms. Mazari further states the truth about Pakistani relations with the US. “But the truth is that the US is only our strategic ally in name; in substance, its long-term interests, which should be in accord with those of such an ally, are instead at variance. It has cast its lot with India, which has unequivocally demonstrated its enmity towards Pakistan. Whether by stalling the Kashmir dispute’s solution, depriving us of our rightful share of water, or fomenting trouble in Balochistan and FATA, it has left no one in doubt about the end purpose of these hostile adventures. Yet, Washington appears to be blind to the brutalities the people of Kashmir have to bear at the hands of its security forces and the open reneging of its commitments to hold a plebiscite under UN-auspices. Left to the US, it would not hesitate getting India a permanent seat at the UN Security Council. It has already defied international law by agreeing to provide nuclear technology to India that would ultimately go to boost its killer arsenal.” The Nation.:pakistan::pakistan::pakistan:

Kashmir my friend might be better off under the Andorran Model which even Musharraf found the most pragmatic and workable idea. But, a major problem with all Paksitani national leaders to date is inconsistencies and pandering to factional and fringe religious interests which interests in turn are out to cut your nations throat and create anarchy and chaos in the name of religion.

US try anything inside Pakistan and they will face the greatest threat to themselves on earth. All Muslims will be united under one banner. China will also help. :pakistan: :pakistan: :pakistan:

I am not against US but you do anything bad with Pakistan and you are gone.

They know this very well... This is why its all Bahana Afghanistan Nishana Pakistan...

Is not the growing strategic partnership of the US and Pakistan of primary concern for terrorists? Afraid, because they cannot divide and conquer, terrorists are faced with hard times and fragmentation of their own alliances. Is it then no mystery that a new conspiracy theory suggests the US is planning to attack Pakistan and wage a war against Islam?

Today millions of Muslim US citizens enjoy the same rights as all the other American citizens and freedom to practice Islam!

Muslims in America ? A Statistical Portrait

As mentioned in our previous post, the ISAF deputy chief of staff for communication has clarified our stance regarding the incorrect report in the NY Times. It is only logical that the US and Pakistan work together to stop the terrorists, who continue to commit heinous crimes on both sides of the border. Contrary to the conspiracy theory, it would make no sense for us to commit billions in military aid to Pakistan and then plan an attack on the country.

Did you know that 48 coalition members are an integral part of the international community's comprehensive approach to Afghanistan and its efforts to bring a lasting peace and stability back to the country? Here is a list of the members:

CENTCOM | Coalition Countries

Do you not see that some of the predominantly Muslim countries like Albania, Bosnia, Egypt, Jordan, Kuwait, Morocco, Qatar, Turkey, and Yemen are also members? Would they work alongside the US, knowing we are planning to wage a war against Islam? Here is a video of Bosnian ISAF soldiers in Helmand, Afghanistan:

Also, why would China anticipate a war with the US on the basis of Islam, when we have some of the predominant Muslim nations helping us in our efforts in Afghanistan? Is China at peace with its own Muslim population? In addition, ISAF coalition nations have provided donations to equip the Afghan security forces, to include small arms, ammunition and uniforms, as well as tanks and helicopters. Every member of the ISAF coalition contributes to the overall Afghan mission. The essence of the contribution in Afghanistan is that 48 nations are standing together to bring about security and stability. In Afghanistan the international commitment remains strong.

We do not condone the recent terrorist attacks in Pakistan and we wish the Pakistani government would take aggressive measures against terrorism for the safety of its citizens. We have always considered Pakistan a key ally in this war on terror and will continue to work together for the common objective of peace.

Will like to correct you here there are almost no economies in tge world that practice surplus budgeting there is deficit in every economy of the world may be chins india usa so comparing a countries economic condition with surplus budgeting is wrong though there should not be much deficit
Yes! Pakistan is survivng on economic aids.

Is our economy in surplus? We are importing more and exporting less. The deficit caused by this is addressed through economic aids that are released by IMF and America.

Simple economics.

I am talking in this context:

A Budget Surplus arises in a country when the total revenue earning surpass that of expenditure in a particular financial year. Budget Surplus is very important in the sense that at the time of covering the budget deficit, it brings about a decrease in the net public debt. Like Budget Deficit, Budget Surplus also exert indirect influence on the tax payers.

Due to war and corruption, our economy is currently in very poor shape. Pakistan is in very delicate situation.
