* NVG/HMS
* Motion Sensors integrated Electro Optical Targeting Turret.

Our Cobras are way past their age. They can't effectively kill Talidogs in broad day, let alone night.

If Americans don't want to sell Vipers, they should approve T-129s Engines !

For Talibitches, no need to go high tech to this level.

A two seater cessna with night vision, machine gun, few rocket pods etc. is good enough.

These will be easy on the fuel, and we have plenty of pilots to keep them up 24/7.

Heck a fleet of 100 such cessnas should be able to blanket the area.


Our biggest weakness against Talibictches is human intel, nigh vision capable spying/targeting etc.

And both can be done at very reasonable cost. It boggles my mind that why we have not put together a large fleet of "manned predator" aka cessna up in the skies over our troubled areas.



Long term off course we must change our Mullahtic and ayatullahtic mind set.

But back to the business of the DCG, where Pakistan is also expected to urge the Americans to sell the upgraded versions of the AH 1F Cobra helicopters.

Pakistan will try its luck and push for the acquisition of the Cobra Zulu, again. The United States has already disclosed its intent to provide Pakistan eight Global Response Cutters, eight 25 mm or 30 mm naval guns, 32 M-2HB 0.5 mm caliber machine guns, 32 7.62 mm guns including other command and control, navigational and technical equipment all worth around $350 million

US should give away free of cost all of the remaining Cobras in its fleet and also allow PAA to buy from Jordan-Bahrain-Philipines-Turkey and for Spares from Spain and other former operators.

More over, countries like Japan-S.Korea which has 100 of them should also think over giving these Cobras for free.

That may be the reason Pakistan may be pushing for those Cobra Zulus as if US can't sell those then allow equipment used in T-129s to be sold to Pakistan.

One thing you guys dont understand that going for these Cobra zulus is in our favour because PA has experince of operating these choppers just like F-16s going for other helis will require more training for our pilots.

I am not sure why Americans would refuse something like engines.....i think it has got to do with Pakistan's paranoia more than anything. I mean, if they could approve the BLK52s with AIM120s..........seriously are Cobra or A129s more 'high tech' then that? Nope...not.

Cost, availability etc is one reason......and for faster deployment, Mi35/28 will rule the talibunnies equally well. When you have Russia..........why not go for it? You didn't have the Russian offer when the Cobra Zulus were requested first time.

Korea had an order for 36 Zulus for 2.6 billion dollars...with some Hellfire missiles as well.

On a side note, weren't all Cobras upgraded to AH1F standard with the FLIR/Thermal imaging?
