Pakistan to introduce local version of Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp

ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan directed that a comprehensive strategy should be prepared within three days to curb character assassinations through social media.

He has directed officials of Interior Ministry to evolve such a system in consultation with Pakistan Telecommunication Authority.

The Minister directed that the system should not curb freedom of expression but at the same time no one should misuse this right.

He directed that management of social media companies should be contacted to introduce local version of Facebook, Twitter and WhatsApp.

He said it should also be ensured that spread of controversial material regarding some one's character should be effectively prevented.

The minister expressed his annoyance over refusal to provide required information from Facebook administration. The United States government was also contacted in that regard.

“It seems that social media is working under Freedom to Lie rather than freedom of expression,” he said.

Chaudhry Nisar said it was regrettable that Facebook Administration and American officials were not realizing sensitivity of the matter.

He said neither a foreign company under its policies and freedom of expression would be allowed to make any high profile personality controversial, nor any one had the right to use social media for character assassination.

Pakistan is under information war for last 15 years, Facebook staff allowed gruesome content from Syria, Egypt or Bahrain, but blocks and deactivated facebook account if someone posted picture of KAshmiri with pellet markings on their face. If any activist is discussing Kashmir thru facebook chat, his aaccount gets blocked. Facebook staff started to block KAshmiri brutalities in name of Community standards which Zuckerberg clarified as these actions are 5taken to stop 'promotion of terrorism'.
Whenever you view youtube vdo, on the right hand side there are youtube vdo links [or recommended for you]. Whenever in Pakistan I clicked/watched islamic vdo like e.g., Tariq Jamil or a recital, Tarek Fatah vdos or edited content of pak talk shows bashing PAkistan and glorifying modi or any other indian appeared as [recommended for you] 'ON YOUTUBE PK' which was banned in PAk and allowed back in, with a filter to stop anti-islam content or simply psy ops to demotivate, affect an average muslim psyche to hit his faith. I watched youtube from places like Malaysia, Indonesia and Sri Lanka, nowhere such propaganda links appeared.
There is tie-up between US/India on islamophobia and targeting of PAkistanis, which one can easily see.

Facebook, twitter or any other social media platform that originates from USA, has to conform to the laws as well as social norms of that nation, and is'nt answerable to sny other entity on earth. US origin social media is now platform to spread propaganda, hate and psy ops [psychological operations or mass propaganda by CIA or other]. Use of fake, unauthenticated pictures, vdos to spread their version of propaganda has become a new normal. Its so stupid sometimes that Indian propaganda wing ANI it sometimes uses photoshopped images sometimes call an MMA protest in Quetta as Baloch protest, the idiots forgot to blur the banners in the background which were written in urdu telling the purpose it was'nt an anti-state or pro-Baloch protest.

PAkistan Govt. needs to have proactive approach, this fake drama and REACTION to the respected judiciary of Pakistan is just short-term measure. We need to find a way, FAST.

Initially just after 9/11, Salman Rushdie and Ibn Warraq were deployed who failed then former Pakistanis now citizens of CAnada/USA [with leftist, marxist background] are being deployed to do this war

Former PAkistanis now residents in North America [Canada/USA citizens] usage of such individuals for islam-hate, pakistan-hate propaganda for money and fame, to hit PAkistani interests.
Tarek Fatah, Naelah Qadri [who now calls herself Naelah Baloch], Tahir Gora, Raheel Raza[Clarion project]. The residents in Pakistan who use legal course and craft their words to keep themselves safe in Pakistan like Jibran Nasir,Asma Jahangir, Najam Sethi, etc.... IS A MUCH BIGGER PROBLEM. AND THERE IS NO STRATEGY by PAkistan govt. to deal with these individuals cos of a phone call.
