‘Pakistan to continue backing Turkey’s stance on Cyprus’

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League (PML) Secretary General Senator Mushahid Hussain Syed said on Saturday that Pakistan would continue Turkey’s stance on the issue of Cyprus.

Speaking at a seminar organised by the PML Cultural Wing to pay tribute to the founder of modern Turkey Mustafa Kemal Ataturk he said, “Pakistan supports Turkey’s position on Cyprus and considers it a legal and just freedom struggle.”

He paid tribute to Mustafa Kemal Ataturk whom he said was an outstanding statesman and military commander who defeated the forces of imperialism in the early 20th century and won the war of independence of modern Turkey. staff report
