MANPADs pose a much serious threat to gunships.. which we have plenty... from Stingers to our own ANZA series..

Its amazing what Turkey has done with the Camera and reconisance technology , it's just fantastic. Together with a strong hardware base , they really know what they are doing.

I wish Pakistan also made some advancements in the Camera / Photolense and hardware aspect of technology rather then just focus on the software side made of software developed outside in open market.

A STRONG hardware, chip , camera , processors motherbords etc electonics etc is all vital for a defense sector.

We can surely learn great deal in hardware sector from Turkey and China

Turkey's military development is superb and their products are becoming world class, for the things Pakistan cant make themselves we need reliable all weather partners..

A strong Turkey means a stronger Pakistan

and a stronger Pakistan means a stronger Turkey

Here the Umtas (new name Mizrak U) is being fired from the T 129 but according to the video at the beginning of the thread it was fired from a Cobra so it looks like it has been tested from both choppers.

by your post it means that UMTAS is now Mizrak-U? and previously PA was interested in UMTAS so they are buying the same?

Yes UMTAS is MIizrak U so Pakistan is now buying Mizrak U which was the plan from the beggining.

The name change threw me off too.

Atilgan and your mentioned system isn't working with same principles. What Aselsan provided with Atilgan is advanced stabilization, tracking, identification of target based infrared images. After, The missile are guided by the referances received by them.
