Pakistan that could make atomic bomb could very easily make ventilators: PM Imran

It was a rather rude jolt of reality for Pakistan when the country’s Prime Minister himself questioned the country’s inability to produce even basic medical equipments.

Pakistan PM posed a rather serious question to his countrymen asking why a country like Pakistan that can build atom bombs cannot even build ventilators?

In a private TV telethon, PM Imran Khan blaming his country’s dependence on exports expressed his amusement saying, “We could do that (make ventilators). This is not rocket science. We have made atom bombs.” The video of the program has gone viral in no time since it was aired on Friday.

In fact, another fast bowler and former Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Akhtar had earlier appealed to India to make 10,000 ventilators for Pakistan.

Akthar had stated — “If India can make 10,000 ventilators for us, Pakistan will remember this gesture forever.” The former Pakistani speedster had asked India and Pakistan to join hands for humanity.
China, considered as Pakistan’s all-weather friend has been supplying Islamabad with most of the medical supplies. A special plane carrying medical supplies from China will land in Pakistan in the next couple of days.

This is the second such plane to arrive in the country, informed Naghmana Hashmi, Pakistan’s ambassador to China.

In fact, such is the shortfall in medical supplies, that Pakistani’s from across the globe have been asked to find additional supplies and help their country of origin. Pakistani physicians working in the United States have been asked to finance the purchase of their ventilators for the Islamic Republic.

An association of Pakistani doctors called APPNA is looking at ventilators in the US and China. A Pakistani businessman in Japan had also offered to donate 16 ventilators to his home country.

Earlier, the National Disaster Management Authority of Pakistan Chairman Lt Gen Muhammad Afzal stated that Pakistan currently only has 2,200 ventilators left and only half of these would be available if needed.

Meanwhile, while addressing a news conference along with Planning and Development Minister Asad Umar, Dr. Zafar Mirza (Special Assistant for Health) said some people analyzed statistics and incorrectly assumed that the Covid-19 crisis in Pakistan was not as critical as it was in other nations.

Umar further stated that 100,000 coronavirus testing kits had reached Karachi out of which 50,000 would be handed to Sindh and 25,000 to Balochistan. “The country will be able to conduct 20,000 to 30,000 tests in a day by the end of April.”

The minister also said Pakistan had procured and distributed 14 new Polymerase Chain Reaction test machines. He added that there were up to 27 laboratories across the country equipped to conduct the tests.

Real slap on the face of all the inept bureaucrat taking huge salaries and permanent cushy jobs, doing nothing and putting down the talent that wants to do anything. These filthy bureaucrats run Pakistans research and industrial establishments and are the chains keeping Pakistan down and out.

I never understood the comparison of nuclear weapons to other basic things.

Army who wanted to make nuclear weapons were motivated and wanted to make it for the defense of the country.

Whereas for the basic and daily use item , priorities were never set right by retarted and corrupt civilians. If civilains can't even do their job properly then it is better to handover the country to the army. At least they get some work done.

This is a made up question by bhangi media to soothe rss nazi ego. The real question is why east indic scandaniva is so obsessed with what kinda priorities pakistan must have and what not?

We do make world class surgical equipment but may be the ventilators thing didn't occur to our Industrialists. Besides the serial production of ventilators is in the pipe line. Now apply the same anology on east indic scandanavia, why she can't make simple ppe's and has to rely on China?

Where is this east Indic Scandinavia you refer to?

Lol PMIK said we could easily build ventilators (which is now in testing phase) easily when we can build nuclear bomb......

lol @ cheap indians

its just about priorities further we south asians are lethargic by nature and we think if something is readily available in market why do we need to make it, ventilators were easily available for imports while nuclear bomb was not its simple. and now when ventilators are not available easily Pakistan is making it and Pakistan made ventilator are in testing phase and will be available for exports as well.

Most of these R&D facilities are run by incompetent semi-retired military officers. "genrals". The civilians are not the main culprits. Talk to the people in R&D you will know how frustrating it is.

Now we can ask idols in those mandirs to send us aid of ventilators.

Prime Minister Imran Khan has told healthcare workers that the government will try to provide complete protective kits to them, regretting that such products have been to be imported.

“The country that could make an atomic bomb could very easily make ventilators but we never focused on our health sector,” he said during a telethon.

Prime Minister Imran Khan has told overseas Pakistanis that whatever money they donate to the government’s Covid-19 Relief Fund will be disbursed to people through the Ehsaas programme.

The number of beneficiaries is currently 12 million families, but it will keep increasing, the premier said.

“The process is transparent, and there is no political bias.”

Reliability will be higher than imported ones, because we are producing them locally.

Imran Khan have zero role in manufacturing of ventilators, I will not be surprised, if he have heard about ventilator for the first time in his life.

Ventilator are made /organized by army who is missing from appreciation on pdf and controlled media alike.
I have made a thread to thank army for their efforts in organizing test kits, PPE and ventilators, but this sectarian forum have gods across the border.

His own mother fought against cancer on a ventilator so i am pretty sure he is well aware of it. Also to mention the fact he built one of the few hospitals which were capable of detecting corona virus. IK has achieved in his life what your previous generations or generations to come can never achieve.

So lots of Pakistani Med companies have shown proto-types any gone into mass production yet of ventilators.
