Pakistan test fires surface to surface ballistic missile Shaheen 2

Having Ballistic missles and using them in warlike situations are a different ballgame. There are many logistical nightmares to consider apart from range or accuracy. It means how effectively your ASFC can use these missles.

Exactly there are always inherent risk with such tests and you would want to avoid population centres. But people are reading too much into it.

A true message for those with CBG in region would be thermonuclear and ICBM with MIRV. That would be real message.

When you have idiots at helm you cannot achieve anything.

During Musharraf era there was massive talk of our own slv and there were pics as well. But since than nothing.

BTW Pakistan had reversed engineered rockets back in 60s. Had we had proper people at the helm we would have been a space power.

You can make $$$ billions by sending satellites for client and with new push for space travel.

But we are too bzy looting and plundering.
It's never too late, and some times it pays to start late (but one has to start)

1500 KMs??? The damn thing is as big as Russian Topol.

Kis ko chutiya bana rahey hain?

Topol is taller, wider, and much much heavier (almost double the mass of S-2).

And that's when I haven't even mentioned the day and night difference in Russian expertise in rocketry compared to ours.

C'mon now

Pakistan get out of this old technology and do something new to counter indian S 400 threat

I wounder why they don't show high quality, slow motion target impact stage of missile.????
OpSec.

The impact point has an oil slick covering the surface, signifying a surface platform was hit. The impact point is shown for quite a length of time and the video zooms into it as well.
Haha no, thats not oil.

Pakistan stop testing missile ground to ground since last times debris of Ghauri Missile fell in a populated area. It was not a failed test but a control system separated from warhead assembly during last phase.

@The Deterrent
Pakistan didn't stop over-land tests, in fact Ghauri was tested twice more over land after that incident. And the TCS is supposed to always separate post-boost, there was just an operational (non-) 'issue' in that instance.

More than the launch, which TEL is that? Doesn't seem like the usual integrated one we see.

@The Deterrent
Good catch, looks like one of the new Chinese ones.

To all the idiots who are complaining about misisle landing in sea. For their information, 2 years back Pakistan operationalized new state of art missile testing range at Somaini. The testing range goes deep at sea mainland Pakistan. New facility has lasers and all the hitech stuff to verify the results with 100% pin point accuracy. Moving forward all the medium and long range missile tests will be conducted at this route.
Actually that particular test range (not Sonmiani) has been operational since the late 1990s, with the beginning of Shaheen-I test flights. Shaheen-II and onwards have ALWAYS been launched into the Arabian Sea/Indian Ocean (since 2004). Today's test was only about training under operational conditions, and has nothing to with any speculated anti-ship capability. Considering the navigational warning & NOTAMs, the launch point was probably somewhere deep inland, perhaps somewhere in northern Punjab.

We need to complete the testing phase of ababeel missile and operationalize it asap.. May be even make a mirv version of shaheen2. Testing or validating parameters of an old missile is gud but keeping in mind indian acquisitions, a supersonic mirv is what we need now.
