Islamabad: Pakistan’s foreign minister said Thursday that he has written to the United Nations this month, warning the world body of what he says are actions by New Delhi to position missile launchers in the Indian Kashmir.

In the letter, Foreign Minister Shah Mahmoud Qureshi says he fears India plans to launch an attack on Pakistan to divert international attention from human rights violations in Kashmir. The minister did not offer evidence to support his claim of missiles being placed in the disputed Himalayan region. There was no immediate comment from India.

These are “Indian actions that continue to escalate tensions in an already tense environment in South Asia,” Qureshi said, demanding the UN respond to the purported moves by India.

Tensions between Pakistan and India have been heightened since August 5, when India changed the status of its part of Kashmir, drawing protests from Pakistan. India has since eased restrictions in Kashmir.

Pakistan’s top diplomat also claimed in the letter to the UN that India has partially removed the fence in five areas along the so-called Line of Control of the heavily militarised Kashmir, which is divided between the two nuclear rivals and claimed by both in its entirety.

Pakistan and India have fought two of their three wars over control of Kashmir since they gained independence from British colonial rule in 1947. They nearly went to war again in February, when a suicide bombing in Indian-run part of Kashmir killed 40 Indian paramilitary soldiers. India at the time responded by bombing an alleged militant training camp in Pakistan. Islamabad later said its forces downed two Indian air force planes and captured an Indian pilot, who was later released.

This is the most important sentence in the whole article.

I have to go. I have to tell my son the story of "The boy who cried wolf"

Pakistan recieves intelligence from a wide variety of sources. From spy satellites of UAE, to china to our own remote sensing satellite as well as buys commercial satellites imagery.

We also use Awacs to detect far flung ground targets, signals intelligence and human intelligence (i.e. moles in india).

We can't show "Pictures" to reveal our sources and our capabilities.

With the chaos and divisions across India, India is desperate for a diversion

India was humiliated in February and since it's ego got burnt is also desperate for a response

Multiple Indian states are under lockdown, millions of people without internet or Mobil service, multiple protests

A diversion in Kashmir to try to unify the people is not a absurd statement

Pakistan has long planned for this

All Pakistan has to do is place missiles in Kashmir as well, not go running to the UN. It's not rocket science.

We want to notify the world that India is escalating and creating issues to divert from its internal problems, and Pakistan is forced to reply by placing it's own missiles and hardware in Kashmir

It's not rocket science

Why does Pakistan need to "notify" anyone if India doesn't? Is Pakistan obligated under some UN resolution to notify the world community?
