Khan Saeed appointed new TTP chief

PESHAWAR: Khan Saaed alias Sanjna has been appointed new chief of the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) after the killing of Hakimullah Mehsud in a US drone attack on Friday in North Waziristan, sources said.

Hakimullah Mehud was killed along with his aides identified as Tariq and Abdullah, when a US drone fired missiles in Danday Darpa Khel area of North Waziristan tribal region.

Pakistan’s foreign office has strongly condemned the drone strike that killed at least six people.

Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has termed the recent US drone attack an attempt to sabotage Pakistan’s efforts to hold talks with the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
