• We can't even take care of TTP / Afghanistan.
• China is not going to invade us Militarily
• Same is the case with Iran.

Unless we have perceived some new threat from the sharks of the Arabian Sea we do not need any defence.

The comments on this thread seem a knee jerk reaction. We sign all kinds of meaningless agreements all the time.

Lets see if something materialises before we turn the entire country and it's history inside out.

Once you have given up on Kashmir and made subservient to India ala Bangladesh, why would you even need nuclear weapons or an army of 600k active soldiers.

Egypt is a different case. They were bought by the US with massive aid. They are the largest recipient after Israel consistently since 1978.

I was referring more to "why would Pakistan need/get arms if Kashmir's no longer an issue."

Well, 'just because.' Ultimately, arms sales are a way to drive commercial and personal interests. It's an opaque area with little-to-no accountability in our parts of the world. So, if you wanted to shuttle F-16Vs at $200+ m per unit without any real munitions, that's when you do it. When Kashmir is no longer an issue, we'll end up with even fewer people asking the tough questions about arms sales.

I also don't think Pakistan would economically develop if it dropped Kashmir. The nature of corruption is that if you give it an inch, it'll take a mile and, eventually, the entire road. The public's tax money has to go somewhere, and after some leaves to abroad, the next area that typically sees action is defense. It's not just the Egyptians, but also Algerians, Saudis, Iraq, and so on.

As I said earlier, our political and military leaders aren't (generally) sincere or independent actors. Imran Khan literally came out and said his hands were tied, and I don't think the story's different for anyone else. We've established the politicians can't do much. I don't think the sincere generals are any better off. They're also caught in a trap wherein any rejection of the status-quo can be framed as sedition.

My take away: it may be related to Altay tanks and Firtina SPGs, which go perfectly well with TB2s and other UAV platforms in a net centric environment, firing precision guided and programmable munitions of all sorts. See the Russian armored and infantry catastrophic capitulation in the Ukranian war to convince oneselves further. The Hindutva war planning involves the Russian equipment and tactics....

The problem is with the engine and transmission. Till the domestic solutions are ready, Altay is using the Korean ones while Fitina the German. Since Firtina is based on Korean SPGs, Pak may be after the Korean solutions for producing Altay and Firtina in-house en masse after getting TOT....

I have a theory related to yours.

1. Pakistan let’s TTP back in on purpose
2. Pakistan let’s TTP control FATA on purpose
3. TTP allows foreign militants in especially Uyghur’s
4. Waziristan once again becomes a base for Uyghur militants who attack Chinese interests in the region
5. Afghanistan and Pakistan’s tribal areas used as a base for Uyghur’s against China supported by USA and west

Current TTP leadership is too Pashtun nationalist to let foreign fighters in. But good points.

I never thought I would see you admitting Kashmir is a lost cause. This conversation should have been started right after 9/11; unfettered US intervention within Pakistan's internal policy-making and foreign affairs has neutered Pakistan.

It's total negligence with no long-term thinking.
