China doesn’t want a “Permanent Alliance”. Pakistan has to work for itself. No country is coming to bail us out of the recurring problems we do to ourselves.
To get China’s support and keep it, countries have to be supportive of their international positions and build up their own economies to provide opportunities for their companies to do business. For that we need to earn export revenues, and most of that is done with the west.
Causing unnecessary problems with the west is worse then pointless, it’s counter productive. The commonwealth means nothing but it does maximizes trade and people’s ability to travel.
If we want to exit the commonwealth down the road, we need to lay the economic ground work to not need it anymore. This will take decades of political and economic stability. Just look at how important Hong Kong was in 1997 for China to do business with the west, and now in 2022, it has been replaced by China’s own internal financial industry.
Let’s build up the country over the next 25 years at an annual year on year growth of at least 8-9% and Inshallah revisit the idea then. At that point the British will want to maintain business ties on new terms, just like China is doing now.
