Pakistan seeks seat on UN Security Council

Pakistan on Tuesday voiced its desire to have a seat on the UN Security Council.

The statement came as Hina Rabbani Khar, the foreign minister of Pakistan, addressed the general debate of the 66th General Assembly session.

"At this session of the General Assembly, Pakistan is seeking election to a seat on the Security Council," Khar said. "Pakistan attaches the highest importance to promoting the goals of peace, security and stability in the world."

The foreign minister said the process of Security Council reforms "must be worked in a manner that will reinforce the confidence of the peoples of the world in this body and enhance its credibility and effectiveness."

The Security Council consists of five permanent members -- China, France, Russia, the United States and Britain -- and 10 other non-permanent members that are elected for two-year terms.

Its not a troll but a fact. Pakistan is fighting war cause its their helplessness. Otherwise they would have never gone for it. What would a 3rd world country do when you get the ultimatum " Either you are with us or against us". And that too for a long time ally. If the state cant act against its non state actors then the Powerful make them to do so. Even now they are made despite their will.

in fact pakistan was head of security concel when iraq war was happen we got non permanent seat always when P come bu words we are asking permanent seat with no veto as i understand its not a big deal everyone has right to ask it let see future and trolls should go bathroom for their favorite time pass .
