Pakistan seeks new IMF program

Am I reading it right? Pakistanis tried to fudge numbers to show inflated revenue figures? Isn't it morally wrong? Musharaff did the same thing and Pakistanis still delude themselves of having high economic growth.

Using a concept like morality to judge a macroeconomic situation is quite oxymoronic, is it not? :)

the IMF is an overly-politized, much dreaded, and least favourable option to have to go to

hopefully our policy advisors and all will wisen up and realize that we dont need to fall into IMF's debt-traps....but with the current lot of lotas in power, one never knows if they EVER keep nation's interest at heart

the FOREX crises of 2008 ---perhaps that was the only time when it was critical. Some of the IMF reforms are reasonable, but others are just overly-imposing. The only thing we need to do is inrease (and enforce properly) the base of tax collection.

IMF can shove their terms and conditions up their a$$es...Pakistan doesnt need them.

Wrong! The current lot is best described as used condoms, NOT lotas. :D

The rest of your comments can be debated I suppose.

On with the discussion..............

Agreed.

hopefully our policy advisors and all will wisen up and realize that we dont need to fall into IMF's debt-traps..

How can they, when they already regard themselves are overly clever by half? All the hope in the world will not make them realise that I am afraid.

..but with the current lot of lotas in power, one never knows if they EVER keep nation's interest at heart

The only thing that is sure is that they keep their own interests above anyone or the nation.

Beggars can't be choosers as to which conditions they find over-imposing.

Yes. But how? And who will do that? Not the power elite surely!

IMF can shove their terms and conditions up their a$$es...Pakistan doesnt need them.

If I were a betting man, I would bet the shoving going up the other way. You may differ in your opinion, but I like the odds of my bet over yours. :D
