Pakistan seeks action against Brahamdagh Bugti

ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Rehman Malik on Wednesday asked Afghan officials to take stern action against Brahamdagh Bugti, who is involved in insurgency and unlawful activities in Balochistan. Sources told Daily Times that during the meeting between President Asif Ali Zardari and his Afghan counterpart Hamid Karzai, Rehman Malik told the Afghan officials that Brahamdagh was the key figure behind the ongoing unrest in Balochistan. “Afghanistan is providing refuge to elements who are involved in terrorist activities in Pakistan,” the sources quoted Malik as saying during the meeting. “Malik also said that the Afghan Taliban belonging to Kunar province were crossing into Pakistan to fight security forces,” the sources said. The interior minister also asked the Afghan authorities to restore the bio-matrix checking system installed at Chaman, Taftaan and Torkham checkposts along the Pak-Afghan border, which were destroyed by the Afghan militia. staff report

First of all Pakistan operated these "BioMetric" facilities and Pakistan allowed their destruction - so the Afghan don't Pakistan anything - These Afghans are crossing over to Pakistan, surely Pakistan would have been interested in maintaining the biometric files on these Afghans - but alas, What can I tell you...

I think there is no need to carry out any action towards Bramdagh as it will only fuel violence , we should give a fair chance to developments in Baluchistan and creation of jobs there , provide facilities to our baloch brothers.

That would work operation won't , but if he is too dangerous to be around then this matter should be handled by the ISI not the Army.

That is very correct ... the data gathering capacity that Pakistan (NADRA) has
and the data collected already is sufficient to fix so many problems.

Why it is not being put to use ... Alas.

.
Please correct me, if i am wrong.
why we can not kill him , while he is not on our soil (Afghanistan) ?
i think it is much better option rather then kill him here ?

Asking Afghanistan's non existent government to help us in catching a terrorist? What a laugh.
The day Pakistan realizes that they are alone on every front and nobody is willing to help us,that day will be the start of our progress.

.
afghan government is the one that was sheltering him initially!! why are we forgetting that!

.
So has Pakistan government given Afghan government dossiers of proof that will stand trial in a Kabul court against Brahmadag? This should also include basic proofs like he's the leader of BLA etc, i.e. records from BLA documents that prove Brahmadag's appointment as leader. If not, what is Pakistan complaining about?

.
This is BS. First of all there is no need to make requests to pathetic Karzai or his paralyze administration to take action Barahmadagh, since I don't consider him or his terrorist organization a major threat. Even if GOP wants action against him, we should do it our self. Everyone is bound to die and so is this Barahmadagh. Why can't he die of heart attack or any other disease in Afghanistan. :D ;)

ISI should work out it's strategy to do it silently without making much noise.

.
Had ISI been like Mossad that clown would have been already neutralised.

Such a capablity does, has always existed - the fact that it is not being used should serve to signal that Mr. Bugti's supporters are not in Afghanistan but in powerful poisitions in Pakistan.

Perhaps our security forces have grown sane enough to realize that they shouldn't give the seperatists another martyr after Balach Marri and Akbar Bugti.

.
Why is Pakistan so soft on terrorist..we have a whole list of those directly and indirectly involved and we refuse to even react.

Some of them are even running political parties now.

Rubbish! Baloch don't need nor want martyrs, what they want is someone dtermined to help them achieve materially better lives - all this defeatist talk about creating Martyrs serves only insurgents because it reveals that the politicians have no plan or desire to help people. See, those people whom you claim will make this loser a martyr, they want better lives for themselves, not a better life for Bramdagh -- just like release of that idiot Sufi Mohammad, there are powerful Pakistani political and social circles who seek a continuation of the Sardari system and the blackmailing of the Pakistani state - there's money to be made from it.

I am not talking about the Balochs in general. Balochs aren't just Bugti's and Marris. But how do you justify the steep rise in insurgency after the death of Balach Marri and Akbar Bugti? It gives motive. The people who will make him a martyr are already working for him.

First, you have mixed two seperate issues not having any link. Second, where were these powerful and social circles that you talk of when Akbar Bugti and Balach Marri was killed? Let's not talk in the air on the basis of assumptions.
