Pakistan scores a diplomatic brownie point: Kayani gets Russia to 'ignore'

Indians kids here brag "Oh oh we have alot of projects with Russia" blah blah...While Russians don't give a sh!t about Indian Defence Minister and instead prefer to meet General Kiyani!!!

Bhartiyon ki aukat hi yeh hai...

Ohh my god. a simple meet with Kayani will seal the higher than mountains and deeper than ocean friendship with Russia. U talking bout our aukaat. Abhi pichhle 5 saalon ki news links dikhadoon where Countries spit on ur country and apologise to india on certain instances. This was even a newz event on ur own media. Dont talk bout aukaat warna aisa latadenge ki mummy ke pallu mein ghus jaaoge.

Pakistan is SO DESPERATE FOR MAKING PRIEND that it makes it assume that 1-2 meeting actually create deep friendships.

I mean think logically, how can 1 meet actually disregard half century old relationship especially when India has done nothing to disregard Russia. unlike Pakistani- USA romance fallout.

Its seems so foolish to jump so high unecessarily only by 1 meet. :D

I donot think what @ajtr is saying is wrong...Russia is eyeing something more than just Afganistan....Russia would like to increase its influence starting from Pakistan/Afgan/iran/Syria to Central Asia as a whole...And what more can be a big win rather than to bring Pakistan to sides...Its better India should get prepared and make necessary foreign policy change in accordance with it...

Now what i feel that although Pakistan scores more from Political point of view...but from relation point of view...Pakistan is nothing to loose...Pakistan will get all the political backing from Russia in future...but from the changing geo political relation between India and Pakistan....I can forsee a future where India may join the axis of RUSSIA China and Pakistan Afgan Iran combine to create a strong ASIAN Block in near future....

AXIS is not a respected word sir we should be always diplomatic n calm in our approach. Yes i do belive that will eventually happen because talks r going b/w our countries.

Yes we have reservations abt each other n abt alliance but we can always sit n talk.

Russia is playing both Pakistan and India, this helps them keep their options open.

From Russian perspective do think we are standing in same platform? Pakistan is the failed state and sick man of south asia, so you people don't go getting delusion of grandeur.

I would Request Pakistan to Adopt\kidnap Neuro and put him in Some Taliban Infested Area . I am sick of his Anti Muslim( and more Anti-Indian Muslim) , Anti Pakistan Rant . I would Remember you in Prayers if you Do so ,

Thanking You ,

Just report and ignore..........Rubbish is not worth my time, it shouldn't be worth your's either.

Who on earth wants to be an ally ?

India's only ally is India itself. It is focusing on itself.

Allies are seasonal and no one should know this better than Pakistan.

read his/her post in a sarcastic way :) he/she got mood swings :) not a multiple personality disorder thpugh !

Russian Defence Exports have too much riding on Indian money, they can't risk their single largest client, if selling Pakistan some engines and helicopters helps them create a heightened threat perception and forces India to consider their products just to keep Russia satisfied, It's a bargain! It's just business.....

Just a thought.. International relationships are not defined over weeks or months or even years at times.. Its good that Pakistanis are coming out of their all eggs in one basket mindset and trying to diversify its friends.. But before people like AJTR celebrate the death of India's international relationships, it will do them good to analyze how India and Pakistan's international relationships have moved in last 60 years.. From a time where India had virtually no friend in the world except USSR and Pakistan had the complete backing of NATO, China, USA, Arab states etc etc, in 50 years, we have come to a situation where Pakistan has only 1 real dependable ally i.e. china and none of its past friends, either in NATO or in the Arab world would dream to support it at the cost of India..

So as I said, All the best for your endeavor of forming ties with Russia, but if some delusional minds are thinking about doing so at India's expense, I would advice them to not break out the bubbly just as yet... ;)

why is india getting into RUSSIA'S interest, if Russia intends to go for a military trade with Pakistan as Pakistan is keen on spending at military, whats wrong with that. its plain Business. Why on earth would you think Russia or any other country or any businessman would rely on one customer. Russia is looking for more options.
You cant restrict a businessman to one customer you know a businessman would seek for more options.
I dont see INDIAN'S being friendly with RUSSIA here, i see indians as a BULLY

Pakistan army chief Gen. Ashfaq Parvez Kayani has scored a diplomatic brownie point over India with his three-day trip to Moscow from October 6.

Russian defence minister Anatoly Serdyukov postponed a high-level annual meeting with defence minister A.K. Antony in New Delhi so that he could meet Kayani in Moscow.
Earlier, Russian foreign minister Sergei Lavrov, who was to visit India on October 4, landed in Islamabad instead to hold talks with the Pakistan foreign minister.

The two visits have caused some discomfiture in New Delhi. Russia is an ally and India's largest defence supplier. Kayani's visit was much more than drawing a wedge between India and Russia.

He wants Russia to partially fill the vacuum that will be created with the withdrawal of the US-led Nato forces from Afghanistan in 2014.

Russia does not have borders with Afghanistan but is concerned about the spread of religious extremism through the Central Asian republics. Russia also sees Pakistan as a key regional player.

The erstwhile Cold War foes seem to have agreed to greater military ties with agreements expected to be signed soon, government sources said.
Russia had in 2009 pointedly ignored Kayani's wish list for helicopters, night-vision goggles and electronic warfare equipment. It has been wary of selling arms to Pakistan for fear of irking India.
It is not known how Russia reacted to Kayani's latest list. Kayani's Moscow visit was finalised two months ago.

The details of his meetings with the military brass weren't publicised. Defence analyst Maria Sultan believes a Pakistan-Russia partnership can change the regional scenario.
Lt-Gen (retd) Hamid Gul, former ISI director-general, believes it's the first step towards forming a Pakistan-Russia-China block - a move Kayani would like to take credit for.

Russian Defence Minister Postponed his Visit to India to Meet Kayani - Doesnt Bother us an Iota.

Anatoly Serdyukov, GOT hammered in India due to Delay In Gorshkov.

There has been NO Comment by MEA on Russian Hospitality - "SO forget Browne Point - Yet again a CLASSIC EXAMPLE OF POOR JOURNALISM"

It would have been a Momentous, Visit if Russki would have agreed on Selling MI35 let along a Su/Mig Series

Red Bear is Time Trusted Friend they have not fogotten the Saber in Chest from Pakistan in Afghanistan and Chechniya

Russians faced probs in

PakFa--india financed

Mig-29 upgradation--India financed

Mig 35--As per few,it was financed by india too... and its advanced version of mig 29.

and india provides money,russia builts....

and even they are ready for nuclear powered carrier but india will have to finance or in other words, india finance the russian military tech upto much extent and surely russia will think.

They wont selll any hardware which directly threatens india but i dont understand this theory as chinese have provided indirectly much to pakistan.

Hamid Gul is more competent than you or any Indian could ever imagine to be.

His resume proves it.

Here lies the problem.

In his resume even Ayub would have written - Field Marshal . Did he deserve it ?

Demonstrated performance counts .
