Pakistan- Science Breakthru: Magneto-Hydro-Tropism: Pakistani scientists make gigantic breakthrough

what? do you even know what on earth is an omnipotent phenomenon? this is why i am telling this is a big stunt to get cheap puboicity. actual scientific value is negative...
Publicity from who ??? How long ? I think i have replied all your queries logically. Now you are far from topic , trying to analyse scientist's psychological status over the air and yeah you have tested the observation in your over moon laboratory last night and no doubt results were negative [emoji23] [emoji20] keep it up [emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]

Publicity from people like you, as long a it lasts. Logic is light years apart from you. All you did was to make some nonsensical assertions, but what can one expect from people who believe these kinds of stuffs anyway?

Lol... Ok. You can go ahead and lib with your excellent brain which is worthy of giving competition Einstein.. hope you make many more scientific breakthroughs and many other water cars in future. Dumb@ss.

I have following points regarding this piece of news.
1. The experiment were performed at 4000 feet. Where? Walton is mentioned. There is an airport at Walton. Did they hire an aeroplane or helicopter and took it to 4000 feet? What is the significance of 4000 feet?
2. Magnetic field of 1.2 Tesla applied on hydrogen gas. No big deal. Hydrogen is diamagnetic gas and repels magnetic field slightly. That's all. Nothing new here. What has a rabbit got to do with it.
3. It is published in Business Recorder which publishes business news and DAWN which is one of the mainstream newspaper. This is an attempt on cheap publicity. Why did he not publish it in a peer review journal. That would have made it authentic.
4. This man did not discover this phenomena. He just claimed to have performed an experiment on it. Is there a practical use for this phenomena? If there is then he should have clearly mentioned it.
5. What does he want? To get money from government to do further research?
My conclusion. This man will very likely end up as another water car guy.
Does that explain it in layman terms Mr. @Horus

A Message from Academics—A Call to the Merited Cognizance
It is less often that a certain academic commencement made by some Pakistani makes all of us uprightly elevated as the ground breaking discovery of MHT and its first demonstration makes identically. But, contrarily some naïve chaps have launched an obnoxious propaganda campaign on the internet to pollute the layman public opinion on pretty narrow grounds.

Please have an insight into the subject-matter in order to evaluate the issue’s ‘pros’ and ‘cons’ on a meritorious way—by means of intellectual honesty.
Thanks!

Professor Emeritus Dr. Zaki (COMSATS), Prof. Dr. Khalida M. Khan (University of the Punjab), Prof. Dr. Umar Farooq (DUHS), Lt. Col. (R) Azhar Saleem (SAARC Academia), Dr. F. M. Bhatti (MAVSO Intl.), Dr. Narmeen Gohar (Mayo Hospital), Dr. Rabia Faridi (USA), Dr. Salawal Salah (New Zealand), Dr. E. M. Nawaratne (Sri Lanka)

On the discovery of Magneto- Hydro-Tropism (MHT), an interdisciplinary panel discussion was conducted on 22nd July, 2016 in the Centre for Integrated Mountain Research, University of the Punjab, Lahore, experts of different disciplines posed different questions on the MHT discoverer, Prof, Dr. Aurangzeb Al Hafi. All of the technical questions posed during the session, were addressed properly. MHT was learnt as a breakthrough discovery that has brought a feather in the cap of Pakistani academia and helped to fetch Pakistan’s a softer image in the world. Similarly it was concluded by the quorum consensus to answer and counter the propaganda campaign against the MHT discovery. The said agenda was endorsed by the undermentioned academics.

Ashraf (Rep., Royal Society of Chemistry, UK), Muhammad Ikram (NIRSG), Dr. Muhammad Ashraf Bodla (MMP- Lahore), Representative (UET, Lahore) Mr. Mahr Sahibzad Khan (RMC, Lahore), Engr. Muhammad Yaseen (CIMR)

Excellent Post I Hope This Shuts Many Indian Trolls Up.They Seem To Have A Holier Than Thou Attitude When It Comes To Science. They Seem To Think Only They Are The Final Authority On Science and That Pakistanis Are A Bunch of Cavemen.

They Conveniently Forget That Pakistan Is An Associate Member Of CERN Whereas Their Beloved Bharat Mata Is Still Begging To Be One

It is sad to see a nation wide newspaper of Pakistan, DAWN report the outbreak of such "Groundbreaking" news without checking their own archives where they themselves reported that Shaheen Khan, one of the co-authors of the study, plagiarized her PhD without a penalty in Political Science. Now, what are the odds of a political scientist making a groundbreaking discovery in Physics versus a plagiarist and a cheater conning the scientific community.

The Problem With Indian Trolls Is Illiteracy. If You Had Bothered To Read The Paragraph It Said Dr Shaheen Khan(H.E.C)
Meaning She Is Just A Government Representative And Had No Part In The Research

this guy has been posted before if I remember correctly for discovering something else... the moment I read i sensed bs...
waiting for new members joining the forum just to support this claim... this sounds eerily familiar.. :)

Hi,

To all of my fellow Pakistanis. This 'professor' is a shame and his discovery a scam. Having published my own papers in international scientific journals and having read a large sum of those, I can easily Identify this as a fake attempt at gaining limelight. Remember the water car engineer? this one is even bigger a nutcase.

The sad reality is that barring a few, most of the universities in pakistan have been hijacked by such lunatics who do not have anything to do with real science.

This is what Amer Iqbal, A harvard visiting faculty member and fellow at university of washington, one of the leading theoretical physicists in pakistan (He is a student of Hoodboy who studied from Abdul Salam) had to say about this. He wrote this in a letter to dawn:

"
APROPOS your news report (‘Breakthrough’ in magneto-kinetics, July 6). Your correspondent writes about a ‘scientific breakthrough’ being claimed by a group of people associated with various universities, including the Commission on Science and Technology for Sustainable Development in the South Institute of Information Technology (COMSATS) and the Higher Education Commission (HEC).

Over the years your newspaper has published similar claims by some of these people, including claims of receiving international awards.

What is troubling about this story is that two public-sector institutions, COMSATS and HEC, were named in the article but they have not publicly distanced themselves from this ‘scientific breakthrough’.

To its credit, it seems that the University of Punjab has taken some steps and removed the content related to this event from its website. It should be clear to anyone reading the press release that the writer knows nothing about physics and has almost randomly put together words.

It is a sad state of affairs and a story of continued decline of scientific literacy in the country. A few years back we all saw how the media and the scientific establishment were all in awe over a car being fuelled by water. All that was needed to debunk this pipedream that was some basic understanding of physics.

Amer Iqbal

Lahore

Published in Dawn, July 24th, 2016
"

Furthermore, anyone with a rudimentary understanding of science and scientific method will realise that this press release by Mr. Hafi (for I can not come to terms with calling him a Dr.) does not say anything about any discovery. It is just a collection of vague, almost arbitrarily chosen grand sounding words.

If anyone has a doubt, please go to Mr. Hafi's website. I did that in order to gain some insight into this matter. His biography on the website also is full of such BS. claiming him to be an accomplished saint and scientist and god knows what else since most of the gibberish doesn't even make sense...

Some very good scientific work is being done in Pakistan, but the sad reality is that such people are destroying the credibility of those very hardworking real scientists and engineers.

It looks like you have joined PDF just to reply to me. I thank you for that. This is the first time I have come across "science International". The article you have referenced is not the actual article about the discovery of "Magneto Hydro Tropism" but an attempt to defend it by trying to impress people using a list of scholarly sounding names.
Hydro Tropism means "movement of water" and Magneto Hydro Tropism means "movement of water under the influence of magnetic field". Nothing special here. When I was in school I remember a similar topic. "Capiliary action" where water moves through plants.
If this man Zaki has made this discovery, then he should have also published it in international journal like "Physics review", "Nature", "Science", "Scientific American", "New Scientist", etc etc. Please quote a reference to any of these or other international scientific magazines where this discovery is acknowledged and accepted for publication. That would make it authentic. That is the right way of doing things. An inter disciplinary discussion by academics does not carry much weight in scientific circles. This may impress layman but not Engineers and Scientists.
If you want to do some good, then first get acknowledgement from the world that Zaki has made this discovery. Then find some use of this phenomena and patent it. That would bring good name to our country Pakistan.
Under the present conditions Zaki is doing more damage to Pakistan than all the Indian trolls put together.
I hate to see Pakistan get a bad name.
Off topic: Congratulations on your first post.

If I'm not wrong, It's something related with altering the physical properties of photons(light particles) by exposing them to extreme magnetic fields such as 1.2 Tesla as stated. It's really strange and confusing right now, especially when it comes to it's possible applications. Medical field is a possible choice.

A similarly related tech is NMRI for medical scanning where the hydrogen nuclei's direction is altered by a magnetic field. Maybe this new Magnetohydrotropism field can help us produce something related to NMRI so non-organic objects can also be scanned(which is currently not possible with NMR).

Another possible outcome, and perhaps more ambitious, can be a new space and atmosphere propulsion technique in which photons are emitted at high speeds using magnetics which can propel space crafts at extreme speeds, similar to the current Ion propulsion tech on NASA. But this new thing can be more highly efficient then the current ION and Chemical rocket engines. It would be no surprise if the Pakistani scientists keep up the good work and soon companies like NASA become interested in our work
smile.gif

But most of all we should stop criticizing on this new tech as we have no valid proofs that discredit this discovery. Lets hope they become successful as we have left behind even India in this recent discovery, which is also known to research towards it

Funds?
we are no spending anything on R&D
all our disccoveries and capabilities will be eventually bought by NASA or others

.
this guy is a total fraud.

just type 'dr hafi biomagnetism' in google and you will see that he has previouslr trolled people with another loony theory of 'biomagnetism'.

Photons are affected by magnetic fields? Photon emission at high speed? You know photons have fixed velocity in the space (velocity of light)?
