Featured Pakistan, Russia agree to take forward bilateral agenda

Is he indirectly saying no to weapons sale to Pakistan? Very cunningly put. lol.

Of course, we don't even buy arms in very large numbers so forget about racing.
What have we bought from Russia recently to date, let's see, 4 Mi-35s, a few hundreds of RD-93, now RD-93MA and Kornet Missiles again a few hundred of it, that's its. Russia has no problem in providing arm in short numbers and so do we. See no arms race and we still get what we want.
BTW, we weren't getting anything from Russia a few decades ago so this is more than enough, you can stick to whatever lolly you get from Russia in terms of NO ARMS SALES TO PAKISTAN, it'll always taste great.

Or directly acknowledging the fact that no potent weapon should be ever handed to India that causes a threat to the regional peace, outer space and so also, an embarrassment for OEM. Russia agrees with Pakistan for no weapon race and that means the remaining Indian dreams of offensive weapons may go down the drain.... who knows, including S-400 delivery in the end facing too much of unknown issues or strategical realigning or may in quantity that doesn't matter except that it will be guarding only Delhi.

Pakistan should improve relations with Russia, irrespective of arms deals or India. Russia is a major power with a large economy that we haven't interacted with in any meaningful way. Russia is an important player in Central Asia, a region we want to expand ties and enhance interconnection with. We have mutual interests in peace in Afghanistan as well.

CPEC is a threat to Russia as well ... Russia is already displeased that China has so much influence in the former Soviet satellite states as a result of CPEC. It may not side with India but relations with China are only determined by money at this point.

Your understanding of Geopolitics is just terrible. Not surprised at all that such "genius level" conclusions are coming from an indian.

یہ دھواں کہاں سے اٹھتا ہے

Islamabad: Cash-strapped Pakistan is set to receive an integrated Russian investment package of $14 billion for the country's energy sector, including offshore gas pipeline and underground storage projects, a media report said Thursday.

A Russian delegation headed by Gazprom Management Committee Deputy Chairman Vitaly A Markelov pledged to make the investment during a recent visit to Pakistan, the Express Tribune reported.

The Russian companies would build a gas pipeline from Karachi to Lahore to transport imported gas for meeting the needs of the Punjab province.

Out of the USD14 billion, Russians would invest around $10 billion in an offshore gas pipeline project, $2.5 billion in the North-South pipeline project and the remaining on building underground storages in Pakistan, the report said.

Every thing is not said in diplomacy. He was addressing to Pakistani public, so he has to say something like this. Otherwise, we know Russia major arms buyer is India. If they deny any advance defense tech to India they will loose a huge market. So, we have to wait till India start to rely on western tech and stop buying Russian equipment. India, if wise enough, will never shun Russia completely.

the real problem is the lack of innovation in the Russian weapons industry

On the backdrop of India getting hit by China, their historic ally Russia have even moved-on due to Modi who truly isolated India WORLDWIDE

Russians are not reliable, and every side they are is bound to defeat.
Pakistan should refrain from getting to close to Russia.

Russia is getting depopulated by 1% every year due to the negative population growth even as the muslim population is growing considerably there. It is in Russian interest to align itself with the muslim block.
But to say that its ship is sinking is fallacious. It will play an important but secondary role to china in the new world order.
