Pakistan rumored to be interested in additional RJAF F-16s

What happened to that JF-17 plane we were making. No news on that anywhere. Did that project stall or something?
Yup
Totally stalled - not one was built or flying.
All the images, videos and actual aircraft flying overhead are CGI which only ultimate geniuses who believe the earth is flat and Djinn can be used to make electricity can see for their fakeness

Hi,

I never thought someone could challenge the existence of the JF17 in such an un-informed manner---.
It was sarcasm brother, my apologies if it came across as a serious question. But what is disappointing to me is the fact that up until a couple of years ago, the talk centered around the Jeff fulfilling all our air force needs, yet today, as things stand, it feels with all the discussion centered around the F-16s and J-10s, the JF-17 program seems all smoke and mirrors

perhaps you should consider that the jf-17 cant do everything the f-16 or j-10 can.

Perhaps that was for the PAF to consider. Perhaps then we would have had a lot more J-10c's to begin with, supplemented with mirages for the AG role

In recent days multiple sources are suggesting the US has no issues with Pakistan purchasing used F16s from Jordan or other friendly countries.

that is a speculation. a suggestion presented as a news.
which 2 Pakistani officials broke this news? did they make this annoucement in their personal annonimous capicty or officially?
who in the state department did they talk to? who else has reported that?

At best we been cleared to get the maintenance and replacement parts for our F-16s. not long ago Americans blocked the sale of their engines for Turkish ATAK helicopters pretty much trashing our deal with Turkish manufacturer

Im not sure if people actually read what other members write and then think about the points being made, and then weigh them against their own positions before spouting out at the mouth. Seems to be the major issue with everything in Pakistani culture. Spout out at the mouth without weighing the facts just base your arguments on pure emotion. For a nation with so much intelligence and capabilities, it dumbfounds me.

The reason this deal ABSOLUTELY needs to happen IF it is actually on the table is one simple fact. 180 fighters in PAF are F-7PG (53), Mirage 3 (60) or Mirage V (69). These are NOT capable fighters in the Indo/Pak theater outside of ROSE II/III Mirage V and their strike capabilities. They are woefully obsolete and dangerous for PAF to keep flying.

The RJAF F-16s are all MLU'd to 5.5 and 6 which puts them at blk 50/52+ equivalent (same as PAFs MLUs) which today would make them slightly less capable electronically than J-10C. HOWEVER it is distinctly proven in the electronic warefare senario as proven by PAF during the Balakot fiasco. They also have undergone SLEP which would give them as much life as or more than even new build Chinese jets. The rough cost of these jets would be $12-16M per aircraft based on what Romania paid earlier this year for Norwegian F-16s MLU. That would give PAF the ability to replace 1-2 sqn of the older 3rd gen aircraft for pennies 65% of cost of a NEW JF-17 blk2 and less than half the cost of block 3. It does not mean more J-10 arent coming, or the JF-17 is failed... It means PAF has many legacy fighters to replace and new builds take time to build.

And this money is actually going to be paid to Jordanian govt so it has to be govt to govt agreement (though US must give approval). So money is not going from US and US Aid/CSF could not be used for these.

Turkish issue was more likely to punish turkey than Pakistan.

Obsolete plane
India has mirage 2k, mki’s, mig 21 and mig 29’s still flying. Surely MLU F-16’s are far more capable than all those jets in IAF.
Our adversary only has 36 4.5 gen Rafales in their Air Force while everything else is 4th gen or less. So even if it’s obsolete (which it isn’t), it’s still more than capable enough to give our enemy nightmares.

Obsolete plane
of course sir, your top analyses are always appreciated, i have forwarded this to COAS and let him know this is the feedback from the bright mind who had suggested the ATR72 MPAs are unsafe and they should have "two engines on each side of the wing", if he does step down and offer you his position, i will let you know. Thanks

Does anyone remember we just had a devastating flood?

We are out there in the world asking for debt relief. How are we going to afford this?

Obsolete plane
REALLY? Obsolete plane? An F-16MLU is obsolete? By whose standards? Given the PAF F-16 is who literally whipped Indias *** in 2019 by creating havoc with Amraam locks ons left and right and its EW jamming capabilities (along with Erieye and Falcon 20 EW aircraft) dominated the electronic warfare scene during the balakot incident and blinded the entire IAF... Yes you are right...obsolete.
