What's new

Pakistan rumored to be interested in additional RJAF F-16s

Eh, our guys stick around long enough to the last min to recover the Jet - because its an asset of the State. They don't bail out at the first sight of a Master Caution & pull the Ejection Handle.

However, those are pretty interesting figures you've put up. You'll pardon me if I don't take your word for it. Its nothing personal..., I just don't trust you.

However, here are some figures you can look up.

Hi,

It is the suicidal mindset---.

Don’t expect 2001 Suzuki Mehran to win a car race for you, just because you did an oil/tire change and installed a new LCD in it. That Piece of sh!t will fall apart in the middle of the race.

Same is the situation when it comes to holding onto old and second-hand fighter jet. They will start coughing after few back to back combat sorties and will fall apart when push come to shove.

Hi,

It depends on what you have---who has produced that equipment and how it has been maintained---..

Weapons of death and destruction are created different than other equipment.

On a given day---any aircraft can fall from the skies---some more than the other---. But al these weapons have shelf lives and it gets extended far beyond the expire by date with regular maintenance---upkeep---upgrades---refurbishment---

Weapons has shelf life because majority of them are stored in the storage. Jets fly everyday, expose to all kinds off mechanical stress and weathering effects. Even few year old civilian passengers planes develop hairline stress fractures after so many hours or just going through a single bumpy ride (Air turbulence).

Fighter jets should be capable of taking hundreds of back to back sorties in a war time while performing dog fight maneuvers without it’s oldest/weakest part jeopardizing the safety of the whole jet.

Moderators should edit the thread title. Pakistan has not been cleared to purchase anything. A request to purchase is not a clearance.
