Pakistan rejects BRICS' statement on militant groups

Your bs is not interested to me man. To help you understand, it says that Pakistan rejects any terrorist organization on its soil and in the same speech is concerned about the rise of extremism.

Read. Slowly, this time, then.

“These organizations, they have some of their remnants in Pakistan, which we’re cleaning,” Defence Minister Khurram Dastagir Khan told a private news channel, without specifying which groups he was referring to. “But Pakistan, we reject this thing categorically, no terrorist organization has any complete safe havens.”

Pakistan doesn't reject the existence of terrorists organizations on its soil.

Earlier Pakistan rejected U.S. allegations

Now Pakistan is Rejecting Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa

Next it will be rejecting G 20's Nations resolution :close_tema:

Why can't Pakistan stop following North Korea and remain with civilized world
an indian talking about civilized world , look at indian state run terrorism in IOK and against other minorities i.e muslims , Christians, Sikhs and dalits living in india :rofl:

Mr intellectual, does your own Army and Judiciary (people your media so proudly calls the establishment these days), listen to your defence minister or even your prime minister?

If yes, well then good job convincing your own self about it let alone anybody else.

If no, then you're also welcome to join the rest of us in laughing at the poor guy.

Would it change the fact that you guys didn't even know what the minister was actually saying, that the title didn't match with the news or the fact that the only business you have here is mindless trolling?

Evasive maneuvering doesn't work with me, try it someplace else.

.
Both LeT and JeM are officially banned in Pakistan. BRICS statement simply emphasizes the agreement on suppressing terrorism in general. China has been praising Pakistan's effort on counter terrorism. It would be silly to say that there is no condemn-able terrorist groups in Pakistan.

Yes, I read it but that's told in a personal setting and not in a policy context. We both know the difference.

There is no mention of pakistan having any terrorist group rather Region is used when the blames even shifts towards pakistan or official stance.

Dastagir said, "We have already said that there are no terrorist sanctuaries in Pakistan."

"We are deeply concerned at the presence of [banned] groups, like Daesh, East Turkestan Islamic Movement and Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan, in the ungoverned spaces in Afghanistan as they pose a threat to peace and security in the region."

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan on Tuesday rejected a statement by the five emerging-market BRICS powers that militant groups in Pakistan pose a regional security concern, with its defence minister saying no group operates freely inside Pakistan.

The minister’s response follows a statement on Monday by Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa that also called for patrons of the Pakistan-based militant groups to be held to account. “These organizations, they have some of their remnants in Pakistan, which we’re cleaning,” Defence Minister Khurram Dastagir Khan told a private news channel, without specifying which groups he was referring to.

BRICS summit: LeT, JeM ‘threat to regional peace’

“But Pakistan, we reject this thing categorically, no terrorist organization has any complete safe havens.” The groups named by the BRICS include anti-India militant factions such as Jaish-e-Mohammad, which was blamed for a 2001 attack on India’s parliament, and Lashkar-e-Taiba, which India blames for cross-border attacks including a 2008 assault in its financial capital Mumbai in which 166 people were killed.

Another group the BRICS named was the Haqqani network, which is allied with the Afghan Taliban militants waging war on the US-backed government in Kabul and foreign forces there. The United States has been calling on Pakistan to do more to tackle alleged Haqqani network sanctuaries on the Pakistani side of the Afghan border, or it might cut military aid. China is also concerned about militant influence spilling over from Pakistan and Afghanistan into its far-western Xinjiang region, where some members of a Muslim minority chafe at Chinese Communist Party rule.

Pakistan inflation rate rises to 3.42%

In response to a question regarding the BRICS’ leaders summit document, the spokesperson expressed Pakistan’s concerns over the threat posed by terrorism and extremism in the South Asian region.

Many terrorist groups based in the region, including in Afghanistan, such as the TTP and its associates like JuA have been responsible for extreme acts of violence against Pakistanis. “We are deeply concerned with the presence of groups like Daesh, ETIM and IMU in the ungoverned spaces in Afghanistan as they pose a threat to peace and security in the region. Pakistan also remains concerned due to the rise of extremist ideologies and intolerance in the region encouraging social stratification and systematic targeting of minorities,” the spokesperson shared.

Countries attending a December conference aimed at stabilising Afghanistan made a similar statement, naming several Pakistan-based groups as a source of concern. Pakistan has always strongly denied offering safe havens to militants groups.

Our indian friends are very vigilant in getting the context. Cant agree with the caption of the news. Dont think that Pakistan rejected BRICS statement. Re read the news without keeping the caption at the top.

Try to actually read the news first, before rushing to comment after seeing the title. It doesn't even say what you have assumed and are giving your opinions on. A pathetic display of intellectual dishonesty.

Had it occoured to you that it is a known Pakistani Media House which displayed this "Pathetic Intellectual dishonesty" while creating headlines.

So, now it works like that.

Read, what isn't there.
Reject, what is being said.

I doubt that any Pakistani official would deny that terrorists groups don't exist in this country, since we have been at war with them since '01. The difference is unlike Afghanistan, there's no part of this country under the control of such groups. The difference is that we are taking active measure to tackle the problem. The difference is that ISAF officials can currently visit Waziristan but can't visit Helmund, the area under their responsibility.

Yes, it did. And if you read my posts in this thread, you would find that.

It still won't change the fact that you guys blindly followed in its suit.

I am just curious - have they only talked about these alphabet soup orgs the whole time???? What's about Doklam, AP, SCS, NK, IOR, OBOR etc.????? If this is the case, I'll it term it as a Pak success for the most critical issues concerning your mortal enemies have been overlooked, that means no room for negotiation or diplomacy - only raw power projection and utilization!!!! Elhamdulillah!!!

.
Big diplomatic failure for Pakistan. Still don't understand why to support these useless terror groups, which bring shame to whole nation.

You know in this fast paced world of headline news there has been more than subtle change in pakistani offical responses from :

1. These are independent individual people resisting toward kashmir occupation
to
2. These are homegrown groups resisting toward kashmir occupation
to
3. These groups may have some non state actors helping from pakistan
to
4. Some of these groups are present in pakistan but india has not given enough evidence against them
to
5. We have banned these groups, now they don't exist in pakistan post banning
to
6. Some of these groups do exist but it is incorrect to say they enjoy safe haven

This shift has not occurred suddenly but due to continued Indian diplomatic efforts. Credit where credit due

something is coming......................and that is

How come bhai?
Inclusion of name of groups which Pakistani establishment believe are pro Kashmires or anti Indians in a conference that was supposed to be primarily for economic reasons. Remember this conference took place in the background of recent china India border clash. Despite on the back-foot India managed to include those groups in the joint statement . Whether Pakistan accepts it or not is another thing.
