Pakistan refuses to allow Islamist party to enter elections

no comments about my other point about cousin marriages.

The overall birth defect rate among cousin couples remains low:

Study in Lahore showing birth defect rate is roughly 5% despite the high prevalence of consanguineous marriages:

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/16188785

"Overall incidence of serious birth defects was 5%"

The only other issues consanguineous marriages are alleged to have are reducing how much taller than their parents a child can grow and reducing an offspring's IQ. The studies often revealing such results are done rather poorly, failing to adequately account for other factors that may affect the results.

You can also clearly see that countries with high prevalence of consanguinity still have higher IQ's than many countries with much lower rates of consanguineous marriages (e.g Pakistani people have a higher average IQ than Hindustani people):

https://iq-research.info/en/average-iq-by-country

The same can be said for height (e.g Pakistanis have a higher average height than Hindustanis):

If it were really so bad, it wouldn't be legal in so many places:

Nor would it have been so common throughout human history:
