Pakistan proposes Muslim Blue Berets for Afghanistan

.
UN PKF can only be deployed when all the competing parties agrees. Fighting must stop before PKF troops are deployed. This will also include Taliban. A lot depends what those guys think. Taliban wants to go back to power, they may not agree to any PKT in Afghanistan.

yes very right. the suggestion is for after NATO/US withdraw and after all parties are taken onboard for it. in the meanwhile others can also suggest instead of grinning over this suggestion.

as far as Taliban are concerned not only they but all factions of different groups want to be in power. the only solution will be to give everyone fair chance of standing in the elections and whoever is elected they will form a broad based national govt

i think we should not argue with indians because they dont knw the simple word logic

:) well its fine. in this thread they failed to come up with any logical reason why such force should not be deployed for bringing peace.

i would support their opposition only if they have the courage to send their bharati army for the same purpose if not then they should not oppose peaceful moves just for the sake of their frustration

The whole point of a Muslim UNPKF would be to maintain a ceasefire, while some long term resolution to the conflict in Afghanistan is arrived at, provided a Muslim UNPKF was acceptable to both the Afghan Government and the Taliban.

Currently the Taliban are insistent that ISAF forces withdraw before any negotiations can take place, and ISAF forces, for the Taliban, are the enemy and occupiers of Afghanistan. That obviously makes ISAF a catalyst for violence, rather than a force that both sides trust to maintain the peace while they come to a resolution of the conflict.

Muslim UNPKF is best solution for Afganistan problem.............
if india want to send their EXTRA COURAGEOUS army in Afganistan then we should
encourage them because they want to go in H**L so we should not stop them from hopeful death................lolz

I do not understand this terminology "neutral Muslim". Simply because neutrality is a political term and Muslim is a religious term. Is Pakistan considering the former or the latter? From what I gain here, Pakistan is a religious country and it should not matter what polity any Muslim country comes from as long as it is Islamic.

Since Pakistan and Afghanistan has good ties with Arabs, why not call upon their forces to do the peace keeping? Turkish, Azeris and possibly Albanians can also be a good option. Not to mention Central Asian states that have grown more conservative over time such as Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan.

However, I doubt that it would make any difference to Taliban because they have been mostly killing Muslims either directly or indirectly and do not care for any religion other than their own insanely-extreme interpretation.

And just in any case, United Nations does not depute peace-keeping force on the basis of religion. It is against the ethics and code since every peace-keeper is equally committed to United Nations guidelines of doing one's duty. Hopfeully this recommendation committee will understand this.

I guess the blue beret has to be sunni, not shia. Should ideally be pashtun, tazik or hazara, as nobody else know local sensitivity like they do.

.
Pakistan should do all it can to help Afghanistan to stand on its own two feet.

If it takes peace keepers on ground so let it be without delay.

It will also be particularly helpful because once the taliban or insurgents target a Muslim peace keeping force the will loose the moral ground just like bloody TTP did in Pakistan.

But that is simply not possible. Working here, I know one thing that United Nations will never send troops on the basis of religion or ethnicity since to them, every peacekeeper is trained to tackle a situation given.

Besides, how many of these ethnicities that you have mentioned are present in the peace-keeping forces? Hardly any significant amount.

I agree UN peace keeping force is not religion based but it depends on the country to country needs, Israel will never accept UN peace keeping force from Muslim country:lol:
Similarly Afghanistan people see western armies as invaders and the best solution is UN Muslim blue berets after US/NATO pull out.

Un peace keeping mission is not religion basis but the un is ru or contrl by the super powers who are not muslim country . so when current form of un peace keeping troops will come they could be mark as invader by the taliban .so pakistan's proposal is very good . i think the troops and the commander will be from muslim country those does not have any interest in afaganistan and not have any close relation either with pakistan or india.

.
To all those who are still complaining about the idea of a Muslim force for AFG, why is this idea on the bases of ethnicity accepted when it comes to Africa and AU.

I was just making a point that even within Muslims, they wont accept everybody as their own. Why do you think an ordinary afghan like the situation better if the peace keepers are any Muslim?
The point i was making was, it has to be the Afgan army manned by its own people who has to take over, ASAP.
