If the worst comes to pass in terms of regional turmoil and interventions by various States in other States on this 'Shia vs sunni' context, the Iranians will be heavily outnumbered and could stand to lose control of Sistan-Baluchistan for the same reasons fueling revolts in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia. Its not as if Iran is a shining example of a tolerant, progressive and democratic country under the current regime.
