I dont see how becoming somewhat Amir-ul-momineen will help him keep army under his watch, especially when he is elected through rigged elections by obvious forces behind him?

well everything aside, we cannot deny that he has emerged as a strong figure after these elections. and only a strong figure can somehow bring some civilian say into the matter of defence and foreign policy.
so im all for him watching over defence and foreign matters personally. also solves the ego problem of our defence bureaucracy who find it demeaning to report to a minister level person.

as far as the rigging is concerned, well no amount of rigging could have gotten him this big a lead. he definitely enjoys popular support (rightly or wrongly) which should be respected. i wanted PTI to win but if the majority nation holds a different opinion then i respect it and wish PML-N goodluck in solving our problems. our loyalty should be with pakistan not with political parties. now that PML-N has won the elections, we should help them through sincere advice, constructive criticism and appreciation on their right steps.

yes I still support PTI over PML-N but it would be wrong if these prior preferences make me biased towards PML-N.

coming back.. the topic in this thread is about him keeping the two ministries to himself. and as far as this step is concerned, i find it a good move as far as my understanding goes.

I honestly thought that PML-N has better people at its disposal than PPP. So its natural that before even contesting elections they had people in mind for key posts.

Too much centralization has never worked in delivering right decision. His brother Shahbaz kept key ministries in hand for the provincial assemblies like health and look at the mess he made at health ministry. It seems Mian brothers cant be taught tricks of governance and encouraging new leadership.
