PAKISTAN OWN HEAVY ATTACK HELICOPTER !

Is there any chance Pakistan can design & produced there own attack helicopters !!!

Very much on the cards...no need to reinvent the wheel.

The principal avenue for engaging would be through Pakistan Aeronautical Complex (PAC), which is already assuming helicopter-support work, such as a maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) site for Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6 turboshaft and turboprop engines and – if negotiations with TAI come to fruition – production of parts for the T129 attack helicopter. It would also reinforce the Kamra Aviation City initiative, which aims to significantly expand Pakistan’s aircraft manufacturing and aviation services base over the long-term.

In July, the Pakistani government and the PAF inaugurated the Kamra Aviation City complex, pairing PAC with a nearby academic campus (raised by Islamabad-based Air University). The intent of Kamra Aviation City is to foster growth in Pakistan’s aviation sector, including commercial and civil aviation. With the JF-17 and Project Azm (i.e. a medium altitude long-endurance drone and 5th-generation fighter) forming the desired long-term objectives of the initiative, the T129 program could be a valuable driver for near-term activity (outside of the JF-17). It would pave the way for helicopter-related activities at PAC, imbuing the entity with experience in the area which it could extend to future programs.

China had already made money by selling its rejected "Teja g" like fighter to some nation...

On troll point...
Well do you know what is Chinese Type 90-IIM tank... and CAC FC-1...

Attack helicopter??? Answer depends on this fact...

I still can't understand how it is off topic or troll... either you are too sensitive about the origin of these two products or you don't know about it...

I did not mentioned any of your missiles over here... neither your nukes... as I don't have credible info to prove my point... or what I think...

And you should worry about that invisible trailer which was carrying Tejas in Baharain air show and current IAF exercise... because Tejas is no threat to you...

To develop a defence equipment from scratch you need several resources... like money, technical knowledge, supporting industrial base... which Pakistan don't have today...

Very much on the cards...no need to reinvent the wheel.

Good point... but future is uncertain (t 129)...
If I had understand the first post correctly... we are talking about the possibilities in current scenario... design and develop a gunship...

Which I feel is not possible... because then armaments, avionics and money comes into picture...

.
Indian example in not applicable. Pakistan often follows different trajectories like for example JF17 vs Tejas. Good example are China and Turkey. JV is the way forwards to reduce time and huge investment in R&D for starting alone. All we need is an integrated approach. If we don't start at any point, it will always remain unattainable because we never started. But if we start today or tomorrow i.e. in near future, we will have the product in future and since their need is not going to die any time soon so we will always need heli.

The more elaborate answer would be please learn to make cars first at competetive prices - then think about helicopters.
It is not necessary.. you can easily decouple the two.

The T129 was developed by Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI), with partner AgustaWestland. In the same way Pakistan can start a JV with the principal AgustaWestland.

Pakistan has bought 40 T129 and it requires constant overhauling, rebuilding...any manufacturing starts after few years of any machine in the service, to have an inside-out look, get the pros and cons. This was inevitable for Pakistan to start an attack Heli venture...with Turkey, with the principal, with China, anyone...

like money, technical knowledge, supporting industrial base.

Are you sure about it....

You can take his word for it, like the Indian VCOAS...

Pakistan defence industrial base better than ours: Army vice chief

Why an indigenous helicopter program is necessary for Pakistan?
Helicopters are not used by the military only to attack the enemies. These are used in securing national highways especially important ones like CPEC, used as medical ambulances, transport of goods to remote places in mountainous plateaus, relief and rescue operations in different disasters (like flooding, earthquakes, accidents), entertainment and amusement. Hence we really need a comprehensive project to develop a rotary wing airplane indigenously through JV with any friendly nation / organisation.

In short you are not welcome to comment on this thread. It is just for Pakistanis whether they want or not and nobody invited your rants and retarded troll posts so get the fvck off to your shit hole and defecate your desperation in public like other 800 million compatriots.. I hope you get the clear message.

We've never built one before, we don't have many people who know how to build one, or bits around one. I'm sure we could start, but it would require training people, building new manufacturing capabilities, ie setting up a new industry. For a country with a limited budget it's more cost effective for government to buy rather than build, unless they think it's a project of strategic importance.

Pakistan does not need to make all its weapons.

Good day, Tay.

This is another good point. The nations who make all sorts of weaponry are those who are selling them. These nations usually have privately companies doing research and creating prototypes which they then try to sell to governments who fund the projects further. Some of these companies nowadays are so big they can afford to create their own proof of concepts or marketable products and then hit the market with them.

Pakistan doesn't have the private industry currently, and also we don't have the budget to incubate such an industry. In the future i do think we should.

.
can be done but it will be a long process, I would suggest taking baby steps going with a smaller civilian model !!

.
It is a long exercise, it took us a while but we had entire might of the state, universities and technical colleges to provide the skills.

. .
what india cannot do does not mean that we also can not do that..

they are also making Tejas from last 35 years and they have both money and resources but that does neglect that Pakistan cannot built fighter jet and example is in front of your eyes.

JF-17 is flying in the air from last 10 years.

btw it is another point that did really Pakistan want to invest in that or they are happy with imported ones and which option is more viable economically and strategically.

Actually can we give the country decent living environment - clean pavements, roads, houses, sanitation, road traffic safety, schools, hospitals. Then learn to make cars, then lean to make trucks, then learn to make trains, then lift off into ship/heli/planes etc etc

As of right now Pak heli fleet is too small to warrant 'make in Pk' heli. You need economies of scale.

@war&peace As young man I got a crush on Mussarat Nazeer singing on PTV- this was when the national monopoly only offered Neelam Ghar after I believe the tedious khabernama which showed Gen. Zia's image at every turn including when he took a leak.
