Pakistan opposes creation of new permanent seats at UNSC

UN is a organisation for larger nations to bully smaller and weaker nations. World cannot last long on injustice. If India is granted a permanent seat in UNSC then it will mean India will try to weaken Pakistan diplomatically, Kashmiris will be forgotten by the so called Human Rights Organisations.

If India is to be granted a permanent seat at UNSC then a Muslim nation should also be granted. I suggest Turkey will be the best nation to represent Muslims.

Pakistan seems really pissed since it's not in the running and therefore putting a spoke in the wheel especially to prevent India from getting a permanent seat in the UNSC. Their jealousy knows no bounds!

Pakistan's response can't be faulted. We would have done the same in a similar situation. Why on earth would Pakistan be ok with India sitting permanently on the UNSC? Illogical to expect different.

Only solution is to keep increasing our economic power and diplomatic clout and military power.GoI already doing that .I think other countries in G-4 also doing that.When it increases after a certain threshold limit they will give invitation to us.

That's the only thing they've got to brag about(in reference to number of muslim countries) but unfortunately other islamic nations don't even give heed to them. Cause they've past relating every other thing to religion and now talk and ally on basis of national and strategic interests.

UNSC veto power is a "joke power".

But its still better to have it, rather than being at the mercy of it.

The G-4 knows this, that's why they want it.

The problem is that no P5 member will accept the G-4 as a whole, China for instance will veto Japan's entry (with the support of countries like Russia and South Korea). Whereas other G-4 members will find opposition from many quarters, Germany's inclusion for instance would give Europe three permanent seats, which is unpalatable to many.

India is opposed by Pakistan, and India also regularly opposes the USA on matters like Iran and Russia.

Brazil is the least contentious, but they are opposed by many nations in Latin America who would prefer a collective representation.

Whichever way you look at it, any reform proposal that involves the entry of the entire G-4 as a whole, will find opposition from every angle.

They would be much more successful if they made individual bids.

Pakistan is practically worthless in the International arena, their views are taken as seriously as Suriname's.

Our real rival in UNSC is USA. US does not want India in UNSC. Even China has somewhat grudgingly come around, but they still use US as a shield because they know US will not allow it.

From what I've read, China has given qualified support to India, that is we'll support India as long as Japan doesn't come with them. Which is basically taking a stance against the G-4, who until now still seek to enter as a group.

The USA shot itself in the foot by openly saying they would support India's bid, since India regularly votes against the USA on issues like Russia and Iran in the UN. But they've said it now so it's done.

As the global hegemon, the USA is the one who desperately wants the UNSC to vote their way, and they are the one who gets the most angry when Russia vetoes them.

China and Russia are pretty much resigned to the fact that we will be vetoed by the Western coalition on matters that we really want to be pushed through. But since we are not global hegemons, we are resigned to doing things unilaterally anyway.

Actually no, china has not given support for expansion directly, but they have given a tactit understanding that they will not veto if these four countries muster up enough votes in general assembly....to put it simply : they will not help nor will they obstruct this process of expansion.
