Pakistan Navy to participate in Sri Lanka's international maritime conference 'Galle Dialogue 2012'

Pakistan is among the list of nations which have confirmed participation in a comprehensive international maritime conference in Sri Lanka.

28 countries have been invited to the event including China, America, Russia, United Kingdom, Canada, France, Germany, India, Iran, South Africa and Oman.

The program, titled 'Galle Dialogue 2012', is being organized by Sri Lanka's Navy on the 13th and 14th of December 2012 under the aegis of the Ministry of Defence and Urban Development. The purpose of this gathering is to for maritime experts from the representative states to discuss matters pertaining to security issues in the regional waterways which took place over the past 13 months.

Host city to the conference is the idyllic port city of Galle in the south-west.

The official Conference Agenda mentions that Vice Admiral Mohammad Zakaullah, Commander Pakistan Fleet (COMPAK) of the Pakistan Navy, will present his paper “Important Areas to Consider Enhance Maritime Security for a Secure Indian Ocean” during the second day of the event (Session-2).
