Pakistan Navy ship to dock at Jeddah port

Jeddah—A Pakistan Navy ship will arrive at the Islamic Port of Jeddah for a three-day stay from April 15.

PNS Alamgir is on a goodwill-cum-training cruise. PNS Alamgir is named after Emperor Aurangzeb Alamgir, who was the sixth Muslim ruler of the great Mogul Empire in the Indian subcontinent, Arab News reported Sunday.

The ship is equipped with state-of-the-art combat management system, torpedoes and missiles. Capt. Naveed Ashraf is commanding officer of the ship.

He will pay call on various dignitaries of the Royal Saudi Naval Force Navy including Western Fleet Commander Jeddah and Commander RSNF Base Jeddah. Also the visiting crew of the ship will visit different institutions of the RSNF Navy. PNS Alamgir would also hold a naval exercise with RSNF ship.—NNI

that what this ship is Good For,
:cheesy:
good will visits,
as it is deprived of teeths to fight!!

this is the first (and i hope onlY) OHP frigates from US, the ex-USS McInerney

seriously, as far as i think, PN intends it to use for this purpose and for anti piracy roles, this will be good to keep your presence registered in anti-piracy task forces will keeping the goodies to defend home!

The data below speak to her ability to patrol SLOCs, relative to Type 21, F22P, Type 053H3. Here you see the advantage of a design tailored to working with carrier groups (which cruise at relatively high ave. speeds). She retains a full sensor and command suite as well as a full ASW warfare weapons suite, including facilities for 2 helicopters. The only thing lacking (and quickly mounted if the need arises) is: 2x2 or 2x4 Harpoon launchers and a RAM launcher. Those are pretty much plug-and-play for this ship.
