according to the EDA bulletin board, the P3B(H) were allocated but the upgrade of the Hawkeye radar-2000 is pending.

This is the best time for the PN to look towards acquiring 2 ZDK-03 from China along with 5 Y-(MPAs.

Looks like some P-3's might be deployed at Turbat base, once it gets developed sufficiently and gets the proper support facilities. Said by the Naval Chief yesterday or the day before.

well india got the money & pakistan got the beast ally status so ofcourse it is arming both nations! and currently recession is not over so US will sell its weapons to whomever it can!

How many do we have from the ordered 8, if not wrong then we have received only 6 and two of them were destroyed and one crashed in Gawadar from the three which we received from US in 1980s. So we might have about a total of 6 Upgraded P-3C Orion as MPA/ASW and there is some news about the possible upgradation of the remaining two to Hawkeye-2000 system as AEW&Cs.

I also wanted to know about the news of ATR-42s that we supposed to get and may be this time too old ones.

Final P-3C Orion delivered to PN.

PN took delivery of an initial 3 P-3C in 1999, although one of them was lost that year, leaving 2 surviving examples. they were grounded before being refurbished in 2006-7.

2 P-3C were additionally delivered in 2007.
2 P-3C were inducted in 2010.
2 P-3C were delivered in 2012, followed by the last delivery below
1 P-3C was delivered in September 2012.

2 P-3C were lost in the PNS Mehran attack in 2011.

7 P-3C remain from a full complement of 10 aircraft.

PNS Mehran assets will be moved to Turbat except for the Z-9EC's which deploy to the F-22P's when at sea. the PNS Mehran area rented by PAF (to PN) will be reduced.

Why deploy all 7 in Turbat? I mean, do they have a sound plan to secure these assets there?
