This is what DARAB missile has to become at Coastal Level
Yes and if one Indian mig 29k launches just one missile , their goes 4 coastal missile defence batteries and thus the missile cover for a significant part of PN , it's submarines and possibly the cities of omara or pasni or Gawadar or Karachi

.
I said when enemy violates your safe zone ....safe to take action
You have Radars and early warning Systems to let you decide if someone is approaching illegally too close to Pakistani Shores

Take this discussion to relevant theead or make new one please.

It's very clear that these ships are for NATO combined task force 150 and 151 ...these ships will free pakistani frigates to be deployed near or in Pakistani waters ... besides that pakistan will always have an open to use it as additional ASW assets

This is a US FMS aided purchase through Lockheed Martin. SWIFTSHIPS has been contracted by Lockheed Martin who is selling these boats to Pakistan under the Foreign Military Sales program. Unfortunately under FMS you cannot buy any non-US made boats and fortunately perhaps, they have also recently hired some help from the Naval HQ as well http://swiftships.com/about-us/team-middle-east/capt-hashim-raza/

i doubt this or the zulu deal were FMF deals, FMS is not aid deal, its a "sale" otherwise US is giving 100 billions of aid to saudis..no
its FMF, since the the f-16 deal(upgrade only), no MAJOR FMF has happened apart from small arms
“While we may use FMF to leverage loans for some countries, we will still maintain the flexibility to use it as grant assistance where needed,” a state department spokesman said when asked about the budget proposal of $100 million in foreign military funding to Pakistan. “This budget focuses on bilateral FMF assistance requested for Israel ($3.1 billion), Egypt ($1.3 billion), Jordan ($350 million), and Pakistan ($100 million),” the spokesman said.

FMS has the option of US funding, be it aid or as a loan.

what would be great is if the US blocked the sale, and the navy will have to go indigenous like the Air force

If the sale occurs, then I think it is a good option. There are two different roles for PMSA which will utilize cutters like the 6 acquired from china for police/law enforcement missions. They will primarily be equipped with guns, UAV and choppers. They will function to police Pakistani coast and EEZ. These will likely recieve further support from the 2 Damen OPV from the navy which will also be mainly equiped with guns but carrying more firepower (a 76mm amd 2 20mm guns amongst others) in addition to a full sized naval chopper. Additionally the Damen has superior range a 5000nm.

The Swift corvettes however will not be primarily for the EEZ, but rather delegated for CTF 150 and 151 respectively. They will likely carry mostly guns, but the advantage becomes that in time of war these will be able to be equipped with AShM and become combat ready corvettes with long range attack capabilities and long endurance range (4000nm). If equipped with RAM2 (which i doubt will occur) it will have 24 missiles with 23km range (best air defense in PN). Its steel or aluminum superstructure makes it more resilient against small arms fire while costing less than MILGEM. It allows flexibility at very low comparitive cost (i would be surprised if it was more than $60 million per unit without RAM). Between the DAMEN and Swift ships you have 4-6 large surface combatants which will handle (along the with the 10 cutters of PMSA) The entire policing of the EEZ and your CTF duties, for a cost of under $500M. That frees up F-22Ps, future chinese frigates, and possibly MILGEM if acquired, to focus on more major threats like IN. It also allows an additional 2-4 surface combatants with stron AShW capability in war time (Swift corvettes)

People are just being negative for no visible reason
  • All Ships have anti Ship Missiles from 2 missiles to 6 missiles each ship
  • 3 out of 4 Ship designs have Anti Submarine warfare Helicopter on board
  • All ships have basic cannon and machine guns and reasonable radars for tracking
  • The ships are all operating under the Umbrella of our coastal defense Missile

We really can't expect more provided the budget we typically we have for Navy

The out of box thinking or innovation to do more with less is wonderful from the recent moves

Lot of candy to give out

By the way congrats on Arrival of Himmat FAC

What are the launchers behind the AK630? Are these decoy/chaff/flare launchers or are these antisub mortars like RDC32?

So is no one still suspicious how a 75m fully armed corvette with a beam a meter longer than the FACM with a deck and hangar big enough for a MH-60 chopper can still some how hold 20 tons of water and 60 officers for 25 days
