Pakistan Navy forces out an armed Indian Submarine from Pakistani waters.

IN chief already denied anything like this happened calling it basless.

2nd question is what is an indian submarine doing at persicope depth in enemy waters???Thats suicidal and no trained navy would do that.It negates the entire concept of stealth..
yes genius. its called compliance since it has been detected.

the submarine is forced to surface when its detected and threatened with deadly force if it doesnt comply
it can escape or evade and when the submarine caption knows there is no chance so he complies and surfaces.

.
Its normal job then why you could not do it when chinese s20 pay a visit to us for demo ... so you are not even capable of doing normal job

Indians are happy that you are not planning ... first who idiot will concentrate it all assets near to enemy area in peace time ... its like meal served ... if pak had decided to avenge atlantic and as per your planning of saturated attack pak could eliminate Significant threats in one go ...

Second you have no idea about navy deployment ... it does not work like this .. if there is one threat iddntified all sensors sill go on high alert whereas only limited assets will be sent to address the threat .. infact navy would have gone even on higher alert

From dawn.com:

Vice Admiral (retd) Tasneem, a decorated war veteran and a submarine commander having the accolade of sinking Indian Navy's warship INS Khukri during the 1971 Indo-Pak war, said “the Indian submarine was detected 40 nautical miles off Pakistani coast”.

While talking to Dawn.com, Tasneem said that the Indian submarine “surfaced to periscope depth because it had probably exhausted its battery and had no other option but to surface and recharge its battery”.

“She was snorkelling, because she knew she had been detected. So there was no point of further exhausting the battery,” the ace Pakistani submarine commander said.

“The submarine was detected 40 nautical miles off the Pakistani coast in international waters and our naval assets detected and forced it back to 65 nautical miles,” said the war veteran.

Looks like all this is making a hen from a feather.

Just compare the periscope arrangment of the 'compliant' submarine. Its not a kilo, its not a sindhughosh(which are not even deployed by IN western fleet, yet there are several members claiming it to be in this thread) and its not an akula. But it looks very similar to a agosta90.IN chief already rubbished the claim. Now if you forced your own submarine to surface thats you affair.More probably PN desperately short of funds in army dominated budget needed to show something to get a piece of the pie ,to show they are still relevant and did a little false flag.

No it doesn't.

If we had captured this sub...Can u guyz imagine the embarrassment Indian navy would have faced??? Their naval officer got caught spying...their scorpene submarine data was compromised....Their this submarine type 209 along with its crew would have also bring shame to them if had been captured by us...

Its not our responsibility to lower hostilities....Clapping require two hands....We haven't taken tender of innocence and responsible state...

At least, we should have captured this one ....

Hoping for better strategy by PN next time...

On one hand it was a wise and pragmatic move by PNS to let the enemy sub go...just shooed it away.

Pak is not interested in any stupid war at all. Economy is just about to take off. So, this move makes total sense.

However, had PNS captured this sub and forced it to dock at PNS naval base.. Pak could have extracted something meaniful from this provocation.

In a way a wasted opportunity in one sense... the crew could have been released after sometime and the sub could have formed a good study plus a museum peace.

Anyhow, happy that there is no loss of life on either side.

Next time PNS must act more resolutely.

The enemy sub was there because of Sino-Pak joint naval excercise. There should be zero tolerance for such silly acts.

can you prove similarities of that SUB & Agosta-90b submarines of Pakistan navy .... ???

Google and check the periscope arrangements on the masts of the sub types - akula, kilo, sindhugosh(which is only deployed in vishkhapatnam base anyway on the other side of the ocean) and agosta90b.You'll see its most similar to agosta 90b.

I think one would be foolish to think this is a one-off incident. It's highly likely the Indians have done this before on number of occasions and have just been caught. If this assumption is correct, it raises questions not just about the Pakistani navy's capabilities but also that of the entire Pakistani military posture and capabilities.

Good post.

Pakistanis are rightly highly critical of their civilian administrators but rarely criticize their military. Granted as a small and vulnerable country threatened by multiple threats, Pakistanis need to be cautious of their criticism, however there are many glaring failures by your military. For example, to any objective observer the way the ISI lured and apprehended a senior ranking Indian naval intelligence officer was nothing short of legendary. In any country, books would have been written about this incident and movies would have been made. The diplomats would have gone on an overdrive exteracting maximum mileage from the incident. In the Pakistani case, all you have is a poorly produced confessional video and few statements here and there. Even the language used by the Pakistani establishment both civilian and military is so outdated and embarrassing to read (even to a neutral like me) that you begin to wonder how in the world writes these jokes.

Pakistan is a great country and its military despite so many financial and political constraints continues to keep a zealous enemy 10x larger at bay. But how long can Pakistan rely on outdated and embarrassing tactics. The era of strategic and political lack of creativity needs to end for your country to adequately address the multiple threats facing it.
I agree we should have captured it ...

Submarines.. meaning more than one!

That is what the DAWN said there can be sometime mistakes in reporters report. These people are not military analyests that they may be totally accurate, but it is upto us to determine whether it is correct or wrong on the basis of our knowledge.

Note: Although may be there are more submarines than one or it was just one.

They cant because a large section of their sub fleet is in disrepair or undergoing upgrades. The 209s are just barely operational as well as the batteries on them are getting old( same reason why our Agosta's went refurbishment), they do have decent equipment but most of it is of the same class/era as our 90b's.

The Kilo's are in a much graver situation as far as upgrades and refit is concerned. Half of them need a refit badly, the other half that have been through a refit are facing operational issues due to poor safety and maintenance ethos than anything else.

The Akula is pretty much a training ship and does not possess the ELINT capabilities retrofitted to the 209's and possibly the Kilos.
So, barking dog seldom bites..

Wow ... 48 pages ... Indian (& Zionist) trolls out here in full force ...

You know what's absolutely hilarious. That if this incident was reversed Indians and Indian media would have lost their mind and Indians wouldn't have even taken any criticism on the video and Indian media would have gone nuts reporting a massive naval victory.

We show videos and there is no proof, they quite media who quote sources and that is evidence enough. Hypocrisy is way too much.

The fact is iron that Indian sub was caught and since we do not seek hostilities ( our stand since day one due to already being engaged on the western border ) we allowed them to leave rather than blowing it up and take hostilities to the naval theater as well. Quite frankly we showcased our readiness and our preparation and hopefully India takes this and shuts down on the hostilities.
It doesn't work that way. India won't stop until it's stopped, and there's always an unknown way it's gonna happen..
