Pakistan must do more to counter terrorism: Australian PM

Lets talk about the repercussion of this kind of speeches on Pakistan.

I am a Businessman want to invest. the things I will do a PEST analysis. Now the first two are very significant

Political environment
Economy

So do you think I will invest in a country (in perceptions of many world leaders) support terrorism or not doing enough

-- answer is absolutely NO.

E.g., Pakistani businessmen are going to Bangladesh because Pakistan has electricity shortages. Now if you see today's IMF news which says the electricity problem is because of lack of FUNDS . Now from where you will get the funds to support the development.

This type of news fuels negative perceptions which ultimately hurts the Business and economy

If I may interrupt? Thank you..

Bhai don't shift your business to Pakistan, nobody is asking you shift to Pakistan.. Why you doing "Political, Economic, Social, and Technological" analysis?.

Are you sure you are free from this electricity shortage issues?

make a new thread, and then message me the link, and I will happily conduct a fruitful discussion, in a civilized manner.

If that's what you want!

I don't want anything my friend . I just wanted to tell you that this is the serious issues it is not that some Indian troller has said to provoked you.

We are just questioning the credibility of the Ozzies for making a statement like that.

More can be done, should be done, and hopefully will be done.

Things are getting much better now, bomb blasts are now not as much frequent in the cities, you feel just a bit more safe from the TTP, but the local gangs and other things are the local things, and not terrorism.

businessmen could care less about reputation all they care about is security; the only thing that prohibits them from doing business in a country isn't travel advisories.....it's sanctions and black-listing of commercial entities or F.I.s within (state owned or private)

there are numerous reasons to off-shore....why do you think many american jobs which only require low or medium skilled dirt cheap labour are off-shored to hindustan? it doesnt take a rocket scientist to get it all figured out

but it clearly seems that it does take a semblance of rocket science to remain on topic on PDF --since now some of you are bringing up totally irrelevant and OT things. This thread is about as hollow as the ''warnings'' given by people whose ancestors were common criminals ferried around on a large ship to the island

if you connect the dots (over a few years) you will see that this kind of statement from country's head is how damaging to the growth and prospects of a nation. economic growth and a stable political environment are interlinked.

well you would know:

Experts say such travel advisories against India are “misguiding” and would significantly affect tourist inflow, both in the business and leisure categories

The travel advisories issued by five countries—the US, the UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand against India

That is good if terrorism is decreasing. Credibility of Aussies on the basis ow many they have lost is not fair, But they do add to create negative perception about the country.

Recently, how much hue and cry we created after They issued a travel advisory. The point is GoP should take them head on for this kind of inappropriate remarks.

Well if enough people start saying the exact same thing, it can't hurt to reflect on the issue at hand. I don't think any Pakistani will argue with the deeper issue here. It isn't about the actual war being conducted on our Western border...where we are failing miserably is at the grassroots level.
The real war is for the hearts and more importantly minds of our people...we can kill as many of our misguided compatriots as we like, but the extremist have a deep pool to choose from...as in one of the largest populations of any nation on the planet. On this front, we are surely failing...for years the government has neglected education and has allowed the extremist to monopolize this most basic of service, through madrasas that are used as political tools for brainwashing.
Is the West wrong when it questions are effort in countering terrorism? Well they are guilty of failing to understand the complicated nature of fighting a war in one's own territory, against people that look identical to one's self...but there is a wider problem that they do touch upon: in our failings to pull people out of impoverishment; in our failings to provide them with law and order; and in our failings in providing them with education. Since our government has failed in accomplishing the very things governments exist to deliver, it has created a vacuum where the extremist have come in and embraced the role of saviors.
So Pakistan isn't doing enough; please, this shouldn't be taken as an insult to those brave Pakistani soldiers that die daily and become mere footnotes in history thanks to incompetent leadership...but see it as a failing of a nation that took way too long to realize the real enemy was within.

Australians are talking this when they are withdrawing their troops after more 10 years of deployment,
I wish anyone had asked in her that
1.What you were doing there in AFG ? if still u are blaming Pakistan
2.Why you got so many of your soldiers killed in AFG when you knew that Pakistan is not doing enough?
3.If Pakistan is they key, then why dont you cooperate with it?

.
Pakistan is the epicenter of terrorism. Terrorists are getting trained in tribal areas of pakistan. as a responsible leader of the World she has done the right thing.
This is what your huge Indian Media brings to you Indians 24 hrs a day, 7 days a week.
But you are forgetting RAW`s terrorist activities into Pakistan.

.
@Pakistanis: I am not at the collision course with you guys. This is my observations it is your right to agree or disagree.

You expect that response from the same people who said 'A great victory' and 'A big breakthrough and congratulations' after the OBL raid, after our borders were violated? And people who are still shameless after that memorandum thing?

Puh-lease.

australia has nothing to even do with the reconciliation process, they are just some goras in the middle of no-man's land with no role to play whatsoever

what matters is what they can provide to bring about a solution; those boot-polishers got nothing; their presence and their existence in Afghanistan since 2001 is fairly pointless....symbolic in nature only, perhaps

That is a serious problem because of lack of leadership in Pakistan. Nobody is there to talk about you and perceptions (drive market) of investors is hitting you economically.
