Pakistan may study other fighter options as US asks Pakistan to make full payment for F-16 purchase

That money then will be better spent on building new JF-17 and to enhance the jet's capabilities. It will be a waste to spend such a large amount on sanction prone weapons system.

Although it was such a small order but I read it in a newspaper the US government wanted to help Lookheed Martin to keep the F-16 line open for a bit.

The component US govt. was paying was part of Foreign Military Sales program not aid. US subsidizes the sale and helps the local weapons manufacturer and buyer with this program. It helps US having leverage in foreign policy and the local manufacturer with jobs and innovation.

Aziz is contradicting himself, If F-16s can be replaced by Jf-17s , then why aren't they, afterall its an in-house production?

Or If Pakistan is so desperate for F-16s and F-16s only then why not shell out measly 700 million for them or is it PAF has only $ 270 million left in its kitty?

Isn't this begging bowl humiliating? Blowing hot and cold because another nation's tax payers refused to subsidize your purchase.

One is a light fighter, other is a multi-role fighter. I'll take it to believe you knew that.
Now, F-16 has "special' capabilities that the JF-17 does not possess, these abilities aren't built in, they come from the extra equipment integrated with the bird (targeting pods etc....). Although JF-17 has pods too, they aren't battle proven at high intensities.

I assume that the meaning by elsewhere is getting something else entirely and thus going to an alternate source and dumping the US.

This does not mean that the US will be concerned of losing a very big client as clearly Pakistan is not a big client. However, this will work well because weapons to Pakistan are a big leverage point for the US on Pakistan and absent this sale, the US is just another UK.

HAVE YOU EVER BEEN OFFERED SUBSIDY FROM US FOR P-8 now your answere will be LMTN TATA co production C-130 hercules but time will tell quality production of this merger
