'Pakistan may redeploy troops from Afghan border to Kashmir

fence is not going to protect itself its a man made obstacle and can be easily overcomed if not under constant observation or not under cover of automatics. secondly there are huge capacity building issues in paramilitaries in these regions
Wrong and wrong. The fence is under surveillance 24/7 and cannot be crossed unless destroyed. There is literally no way to climb over it. That’s how it is designed, too tall. Double spaced with razor wire in the space between followed by a deep trench. Unless the Taliban are brining construction equipment. They aren’t going anywhere. Secondly. The FC is much much bigger than the rangers and in the last decade they’ve received a lot of attention, training and capacity building, all for this very purpose. They are supposed to be the border guards and they will do their job.
I’m not saying the military leaves entirely, in fact the FC is commanded by army officers. And the army will stay in more dangerous areas like Ex-FATA. But there are thousands of troops in places which aren’t at a risk of being crossed and can easily be manned by the FC which FYI has the same training and equipment as the army in this regard. Forts, cameras and guard posts already exist to watch the border fencing, only the FC needs to man them. For which they have more than enough troops. Especially when the province itself is safer, the ones inside can move to the border to.
You should know that the generals sitting up there with 30+ years of experience know better how to deal with these issues than we sitting behind keyboards on a fan run defense forum. Don’t underestimate the FC.
PS: neither the army or the FC can do this job perfectly, humans make mistakes. But to say that there is such a huge disparity that removing the army from there and putting in FC, which is already happening and showing no negative effects, will “destroy Pakistan” is a little too on the emotional side and less on the logical side.

thats what i am saying that fence has to be protected by men and guns its not going to protect itself. an i know that FC alone deos not have the numbers or the capacity to do it for now. Army has to be kept there. many wings are still in the process of raising. FC was recently divided into FC KP North and South similarly in Balochistan. till the time their numbers are not bolstered and the wings are at ready strength, army can simply not pull back, it will be a mistake.
