Let's take the example of India.
Indians living abroad have definitely earned India a good name. Yet, when outsiders come to India they find the place over-crowded, and not as clean as their country(I mean the western countries). It's the reponsibility of local authorities/govt to ensure that tourists are safe and have a good experience while in India.

But if I were to compare India and Pakistan then I would say that the biggest advantage that our country has over your's, is its democracy. Or should I say "stable democracy".



Btw it must have been purely a co-incidence that the yoga ad was aired around the same time when India applied for NSG.

No no,, surely the government needs to be active and sure they have the most importatn responsibility of all. It is just that we cannot just put everything on them alone. The general public and population, specially those with better chances of interaction with the rest of the world (people living abroad) will have to play an important role if things are to improve.

Do these fools really think that some lobbyists can make Americans thinks the other way of things which are in thier best interest.
Times have changed after the cold war thier is another power rising and Americans will not hesitate from starting the third world war to protect their interests and they want a puppet in Asia to confront chinese.
Why so suddenly the Americans have starting supporting india and campaining for them, they have realised the west asian states will not be able to do the Dirty job for them so they now have turned to india.
But india can also not do anything as whenever they want to face china , both their hands will tied at the back towards Pakistan.

Yes lobbying is the only way to get anything done in the american congress. Israel gets so much out of the U.S because it has the most powerful caucus in the U.S. India is doing the same to promote its interests. During musharraf time pakistan had a pretty intensive lobbying and that is why pakistan got so much out of the relation as soon as zardari came pakistan's lobbying vanished and we had deterioration in the relations ever since.
The american congressmen are just like any other politician they to lobby the congress to pass a no brainer bill to help out the first responder of 911.
So if you want to get anything out of relations with americans you have to lobby or else they'll completely ignore you
