Communication gap?

Oh Bhai,
The ransom was paid by Pakistanis, sailors were freed and on their way to Oman with PNS Babur escort. When pirates attacked again, PNS Babur men responded. Now tell me where did IN come in? I mean, Babur was capable enough to handle the situation, IN comes in to take it's share of what? And ends up doing what?

Huh huh huh!:angry::angry::angry:

All we ask is to wait till some explanation comes from IN or GoI. You do understand that maneuverability of a Ship is a difficult task. It does not make any sense for Godavari to deliberately Jeopardize itself and Babur.

On the valid question as to why IN had to escort Suez ... I dont know. As per IN, they were not in a area to offer the assistance when asked by Suez. They directed them to seek help of any NATO ship if they are in the area. Later, as per IN, the Godavari tried to contact Suez, but Suez did not respond.
Godavari then escorted two other merchant vessels in the gulf.

Again, there are lots of unanswered questions and confusion all around. So, wait till some official answers come. Absence of which.... OR a non satisfactory answer .. would prove us guilty.

Indian media even bringing Osama into it! :woot: Was that really needed!

Hahahaha. Now obl comes in the picture. Great work by Bharati media.

It was stopped by Indian ship Gadawri on June 16. India has been asked not to repeat such an act in the future.

Thats incorrect. Pak has accused Godavari for "dangerous manoeuvres". This is different from "Blocking/Stopping" as alleged in your post.

The narrow minded Indian navy captains couldn't digest sharing humanitarian duties with Pakistan. Exposes who breeds hate..had Pakistan warship retaliated for protection they would be all over the media chanting war war war..this is typical Indian dirty trick of provocation and blaming.

What this cr@p post has to do with the somalian pirates M V Suez??? Are you smoking some weed right now???

He is smoking Afghani Gold 555 :P

So in other words, if it was not deliberate then definitely the IN captain onboard is an incompetent idiot?

PNS Babur is escorting and assisting MV Suez, which was released by Somali pirates earlier this week after over two million dollars was paid as ransom for its 22-member crew, including four Pakistanis and six Indians.

who paid? ...............

If news is true. Indian gov should order inquiry and punish those IN personals. It is not acceptable.

Alright, so I see some of my brothers jumping with joy because they saved some people. They are jumping as if they have won the world cup or something!

Looks like this is the first time somebody saved someone!

So check this out, Indian navy saved 5 Pakistanis from pirates.

Oh my god, we also saved some Chinese too?

I would say, this is the way it works, you save me sometimes and I save you sometimes, and both are saved at the end of the day. So rather than showing as if we won the world cup, we should just move on.

Could be an accident too.

There is no reason as to why Indian warship would get aggressive with a Pakistani ship that is doing its duties as member of the ITF.

Pak complains about Indian warship escorting Suez

Islamabad: Pakistan, on Friday, lodged a protest with the Indian government over an incident in which an Indian warship allegedly brushed with a Pakistani frigate escorting MV Suez, an Egyptian-owned ship that was recently freed by Somali pirates after the payment of ransom.

Pakistan's protest was lodged through the Indian High Commission in Islamabad over the "serious incident" that occurred on Thursday, said a statement issued by Foreign Office spokesperson Tehmina Janjua. (Read: Pak statement on complaint against Indian ship)

The statement alleged that the Indian Navy warship Godavari "not only hampered humanitarian operations being carried out by Pakistan Navy Ship Babur for Merchant Vessel Suez but also undertook dangerous manoeuvres, which resulted in the brushing of the sides" of the two warships.

"This incident constitutes a serious violation of international regulations pertaining to safe conduct at high seas and of the India-Pakistan Agreement of 1991 on Advance Notice of Military Exercise Manoeuvres and Troop Movements," the statement claimed.

"The Indian government has been asked to ensure non-recurrence of such incidents," the statement said.

Official sources have told NDTV that India is likely to dismiss Pakistan's 'complaint' about INS Godaveri hampering Suez ops. The Navy will issue a statement about the same.

PNS Babur is escorting MV Suez, which was released by Somali pirates earlier this week after over two million dollars was paid as ransom for its 22-member crew, including four Pakistanis and six Indians.

Pakistani rights activist Ansar Burney, who played a key role in negotiations with the pirates for the release of MV Suez, told PTI that the ship's crew members will be repatriated to their respective countries by June 20.

Besides the Indians and Pakistanis, the crew includes a Sri Lankan and 11 Egyptians.

my opinion:

since this is only an allegation from the pak side we don't have to fight much on this topic.....

But our Pakistani friends just wait for an opportunity to bash India on the slightest pretext without knowing the complete facts of ANY case!

It's beyond bizarre to even report that the ships 'BRUSHED' each other!! This is downright nonsense! The height of idiocy! Do they even know what the operating procedures of ships on high seas are? Why do the Pakistanis lap up such outrageous reporting without applying their minds and getting to know the facts before launching into their usual tirades against India?

exactly, they found one allegation against india and now like wolves they want to tear through it.
just look at comments
"slumdog indian navy or someone asking if this was an attempt to take away credits from PN or some conspiracy"
all BS
according to my understanding the politics was started by the ship captain a pakistani, when INS came to help and tried to communicate the captain did not respond and waited for the Babur to arrive just because godavari was an indian warship. also there was some jurisdiction issues about the international task force which has PN as its member while IN is not. the most important was that godavari was already escorting 2 merchant ships with 22 indians on board so it just couldn't leave them open to pirate attack. also the ship did not took the advice of indian navy to operate an armed ship defence detachment on board the ship.
even if the "so called brushing " of the two ships was true it could be due to any of the both. in indian navy view if PN ship is carrying out such movements it may considered hostile and may face armed action.
