You are delving into hypotheticals that no one knows the answer, not even Modi. If I had to guess, and only a guess, I would say it could 50-50 either way.

My statement about Pakistan not taking Nizami after 1971 was given in the context that many in Pakistan consider him to be pro-Pakistan. If he was so pro-Pakistan why did he remain in a country he fought so hard to prevent?

Why did Nizami stay in a country whose people he considered takfirs, the rationale use by pro-Pakistani forces to kill pro-independence Bengalis? He also served in the Bangladesh government as a minister?

Only Nizami knows the answer.
well most of the people dont opt to leave there homeland, 1947 partition is the great example when most of the muslims stayed back.

Good. He did not convert to the True Faith yet? Most of non Muslim prisoners 'chose' to convert to Islam to secure better terms. May be he will. Give him time.
May be your post reflects how dillusional you are any ways .If islam is a way of leniency then be it ,but Alas in India even a guy say what ever Surma`s asked him to say (Gaye Mata bla bla) still gets beaten to death .Try to remain on Topic Thanks

So you are accepting their persecution is based on the popular demand and not based on evidence because if evidence was there, should have been executed within 2-3 yrs. Before I and many people like used to think that Pak army perhaps mishandled the situation and we used to sympathise with Bengalis as our brothers...but with these persecutions..I think I was wrong it was the other way round, you have lost all the sympathies in Pakistan and we stand by our army and all the action they took in east Pakistan now got justified. You will find yourself more and more alone sandwiched between Myanmar and India.. most of the Muslim world does not appreciate that.
@bongbang I am not one of those Pakistanis who tries to cover up or belittle the atrocities us combined as west Pakistanis did on poor Bengalis. It is the blackest chapter in Pakistani history and many Pakistanis today acknowledge it as such.

But where is the justice in punishing an 80+ man for actions he may have taken part in in a time when the country was ethnically charged. Is there any solid proof he was a criminal or is it just circumstantial evidence. Lets not allow hate and an ignoble past to govern us. Also the hanging has taken place more than 40 years after the events took place. Why so late and doesn't it raise question marks about the due process? Pakistanis, most of us have no hard feelings with Bangladeshis. Why are Bangladeshis so locked in the past though because now the immediate danger Bengal faces is from India not Pakistan.

Also the win for India was unmistakable but also showed opportunism. India is doing exactly what Pakistan did in Bengal to muslims in Kashmir and to a lesser extent in our Lucknow which is why we escaped. Why does it not free Kashmir if it cares so much about Bengalis?

Is it not injustice that a smaller country like Pakistan was torn up for its mistakes in Bengal yet India which did the same thing in Kashmir continues to oppress. The point is we learned our lesson but what about India that continues to do this in Kashmir. All pathetic talk of this Islamic unity went out of the window when the largest muslim nation in the world, one with 350 million was torn to pieces. Islam was the ultimate victim sacrificed at the sword of ethnic nationalism. If we had forgiven each other and chose to work together who knows what we could have accomplished.

There are around 5-6 Million Bengalis in Pakistan alone.

We already have enough of them.

What is sickening is that they decide to hang 80-90 year old grandpas without any fair trail and little to no evidence to justly prosecute them. The Government is just using 'war crimes' as an excuse to get rid of political opposition.

They are completely overlooking the atrocities that were committed by the MB against their own people and minorities. Even to this day, the Bihari community is heavily persecuted and are even denied Bengali citizenship.
Yes hanging 8o years old is actually

The man was charged with the most heinous crimes and Bangladesh is a sovereign nation , we should not meddle in the internal affairs of another country.

I can charge you with a 'heinous crime' without little to no evidence at all? Is that right or wrong?

How do we know there is no evidence? I do not know much about this case but I believe there is eye witness statements from people who saw him order the mass killings.

Three women who lost their husbands testified against him in one of the most emotive of all the war crimes trials.

"All 32 widows who are still alive are happy the notorious killer has been hanged. Finally we got justice," said Mohammad Jalal Uddin, a Sohagpur farmer who lost seven members of his extended family in the killing.

Perhaps you did not read Sarabjit or other prisoner's accounts as released by the Info Bureau of Pakistan itself. You are welcome.

Don't know about Bangladesh, but India should start disposing the bodies of slain Kashmiri militants to Pakistan. This way there won't be any shrines in J&K and secondly no riots and processions. But the problem is Pakistan not willing to accept any bodies, not even the Punjabi ones.

Noon league worshipping terrorists as usual, they are still not answering for the Panama leaks, Their king Shariff came on live tv and lied through his back side. Its amazing how these Noonie toonies are more concerned about some Mullah in Bangladesh rather then the Pakistanis.

Good work Bangladesh, keep hanging Mullahs. Most Pakistanis don't give a shit, only the ummah chummah fan boys care about this issue.

Of course he is...he risked his life to get out of Pakistan to fight for his motherland....He didn't kill anyone...if the other guy didn't start a fight in the plane both of them would be alive.
21 gun salute to your logic.
if he would have been a true officer like material he would have applied for resignation from PAF as operations were started in bangladesh since mar 1971 and gone to bangladesh. that would have been more appropriate.

Hell even Bangladesh has a poodle.....a new low for the Indians.
@ Topic, bravo Bangladesh, you surely are proving your worth as only you people know how to treat a some 70 year old accordingly. A surely proud moment in your history.

I dont consider anyone other than Awamis legitimate ruler of BD. Others are massively anti BD and foreign agent infused. Awamis/Bangladeshis/Bengalis will do anything for betterment of BD and they were not in power strongly in the past, so justice didnt prevail and they were made silent at gun point by foreign agents. In our secular government they have transparent justice system which follows the legal system step by step and they have freedom to practice their ideology as well and freedom of propaganda. But under them we dont have any freedom and people cant reach to the gate of justice and killed directly. Try to understand the difference. As we departed our ways its better we take our respective matters separate. Pakistan should try to improve its relation with Awamis the real Bangladeshis instead of defying them. Otherwise it looks like Pakistan trying to make enmity with BD and obviously Pakistan has nothing much to gain here so a neutral stand is expected. And understand this we dont have any feelings for Pakistan, but its perceived that it was a foreign element in the country for a very short time. And BD has maintained its sovereignty double the years it was under Pakistan. So its silly now if Pakistan talks about affairs in BD. And to balance power with India we have other global players but its not in our agenda to make enmity with anyone. What you have with India is your own matter, nothing to say there.

Right....A Bangladeshi guy resigning the Pakistani military to join the enemy forces 5 months into the war....I wonder how the Pakistani army would have treated him.
