New Delhi (Sputnik): Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Friday said that arch-rival Pakistan cannot engage in an all-out conflict with India and that’s why it’s resorting to a proxy war against it.

Addressing the parliament, the minister assured the nation on behalf of the armed forces that the Indian border is secure and adversaries will never succeed in their plan.

“Pakistan does not have the ability to run a full-fledged war against India, nor even a limited one. Hence, it tries to run a proxy war”, Singh said while speaking on the occasion of the Kargil anniversary in parliament.

Indian Army Chief General Bipin Rawat has echoed a similar sentiment, saying Pakistan has been making desperate attempts to ensure the Kashmir issue remains alive. “Pakistan has been singled out. They are providing moral and financial support [to militants]”, Rawat said on Friday.

The statement came a day after the army chief ruled out a Kargil-like misadventure by Pakistan in the near future.

"It was a big misadventure undertaken by the Pakistan army in 1999. They did not appreciate the will and the intent of the Indian political establishment and the Indian Armed Forces that we will never allow them to succeed”, General Rawat said in New Delhi.

The two nuclear-armed nations became embroiled in a near war-like situation in February this year when Pakistan retaliated to an airstrike conducted by the Indian Air Force (IAF) on 26 February and shot down one Indian fighter jet.

Nevertheless, in the dogfight, an F-16 of the Pakistan Air Force was, according to New Delhi, also brought down by a MiG-21 Bison of the Indian Air Force. Later on it was claimed that the two countries came perilously close to firing missiles at each other on 27 February.

Such a dumbo this guy is if he really thinks that..the only reason Pak Army wouldnt wage a full scale war is for the fear of loss of innocent lives on both sides of the border which indians seem to not care at all about..

Utter bakwas.

We owned their *** on the 27th and there will be more to come if they try a full fledged war.

The dreams of long scale wars where India exhausts Pakistan's military resources and then has domination have never existed. This was a 90's/early 00's wet dream which was tested in Kargil and the 2002 stand off, as well as post Mumbai. India did not dare to act on cold start. They tried a limited strike on the 26th, failed and were destroyed on the 27th.

Today we have huge conventional firepower, we has a submarine fleet to keep sea channels open, we make our own front line weapons.

Pakistan has the capability of stopping India at the border and in years to come, the day we get the ability to redefine the border, we may well do so.

They need to feed janta to keep up the josh, lies work better for Indians.

No matter what, financially India has the capability to overcome everything, but i do not know why not. on the other hand Pakistan has to struggle to keep up with min deterrence.

indians are all talk and hot air. When 1.4 billion indians can manage to 100% indigenously invent 1 thing comparable to the 10,000s of inventions by the White European and/or East Asian races then we'll come and talk. Till then, indians are all hot air and bluster, nothing more.

This is simple and basically matter of numbers .

A 3ft tall man can't fight an 18ft tall person for very long and not without outside assistance . It's not possible . It's against laws nature .

All previous Indo-pak wars resulted in either loss or stalemate for pakistan . The sooner pakistan realises it , the better it can make a 'Nayapakistan' whose standards of living will make Pakistanis something to be proud of rather than incessant wrangling over was it one or two IAF or a paranormal suggestion of 8 iaf jets downed on 27th feb .
Rightly targeted punch in the balls will make sure the 18ft tall man falls down with a thud.

Do we need to fight all front conventional war? No we don't need to and we don't intend to. But can we engage in all out war? Yes we can but we do things in our own terms e.g. Dhaniya podina in his last interview admitted that "they chose their time and place"

Hope you heard the story of David and Goliath.

All previous indo/pak wars were stalemate besides 71. We don’t want to repeat what happened in 47, 65 and Kargil. In fact it was India approaching UN for ceasefire during 47 and 65. 71 India won because our people betrayed us and USSR were in Bay of Bengal otherwise Indian forces would never step into Bangladesh.

An average Pakistani lives in better condition comparing to an Indian. So it’s better to look into your collar and ask your government questions before lecturing us. Your Bjp government made India a laughing stock across globe. So beta we will rub feb 27th on your faces because your government were talking smack. Tbh Pakistan don’t even need nuclear weapons to fight a war with India. we can fight without nukes but the question is can India fight a war with Pakistan without its BLA and TTP proxies? Or even without a nuke? I don’t think so and history tells us that Indians are incapable of fighting a full fledge war with Pakistan directly. It’s not that I want both countries to fight but I’m just stating facts based on statistics.
