Any Muslim who values traditional Islam and doesnt bought into "Islam-less" Islam that west and seculars want for Muslim world (just like christianity has been utterly destroyed everywhere in western world)..

So pretty much every Muslim is an "Islamist" for west and their cronies

So it's like expression of hate or at least derogatory term.

It's a tricky term because it has different meanings, the literal and the connotation.

In most Western publications, it typically refers to a supporter of Islamic militancy or fundamentalism.

More generally, it is anyone who favors reordering government and societal structures to those they believe are "correct" in Islam (the problem with this is that each sect, sub-sect, fiqh, etc., has different interpretations and tolerance levels for each other).
