Chinese made an offer to Musharaf placing their latest AESA radar. Their point was 100% Right to go for their system as keeping in view of our future procurement of JF-17 and FC-20 . We still cannot link Thunder to Saab directly unless allowed to install Data Link-16 in thunders.
PAF accepted with condition to China not for Radar but to make new installation in different plat- form, as we don't need IL-76 size plane, which makes quick pass across Pakistan, but a slower version like Saab 2000 plane for a moderate speed aircraft.
On our request Y-8F with french 4 Blade turbo props were selected with few modifications of solid nose cone and installation design as in Saab Erie eye for systems and monitors, New electronic sensors and high temp resistant electronic suit was tailored made for PAF . Now China has also put ZDK-03 on export as design features are better for surveillance in hot weather countries.

Some army officials have gone from crazy to mental.

Sounds like a lab rat situation...I hear they are testing out their new nuclear reactor designs in karachi.

.
Mushraff had his own opnions on the purchase..the SAAB Eyrie provide advance coverage but no insight into tech while the Chinese platform allows access to tech and subsequent improvement and TOT.

yeah right, NOT idiot like us who test the systems for years before buying them. Of course you may want to 'play loww' coz some of your key systems look more like casino gambles. Very intelligent. :enjoy:
Yeh after years u bought MMRCA.
Buying something is better then just talking big ( mother of all deals ) and in reality pocket is EMPTY.

Having two different AWACS is stupid. Simplicity is the way to go.
Brother it will be hard for the enemy to develop counter startegy for different platforms as compared to one .
Eagle will be the labratory of PAF radar team.
