Yes, a member of my family did the same thing in 1970s. But I understand things are not the same anymore in Iran. Iranian authorities can be incredibly difficult. The fall of Shah changed everything. For the worse mostly.

Visa may not be a problem, one of my colleagues took a road trip on bike from Amsterdam to Indonesia so she went through Central Asia, Iran, Pakistan, India etc..
She got visa but inside Iran she faced some difficulties.. BTW her memorable part of journey was through Pakistan...she was not expecting Pakistan to be that secure for a lone girl and really beautiful

One day there may be a very long bridge between Siberia and Alaska--and so imagine how many countries and continents become contiguous; I think North and South America are almost land/bridge connected except for a small portion between Central America and South America?

Pak,Iran,Turkey already have rail connectivity, we have been running cargo trains since years.


Yaar, I wonder how much hassle it would take to travel to Turkey through Iran or central Asian states on ones own vehicle.
