Pakistan interested in Russian air defence system, advanced tanks

Naah... I am already there where the Pakistani money is. (with the Pakistani generals here abroad). Parliament is for the beggars and another word I can't say here as narrated by my Pakistani friends.

Well then you are at better place why are you wasting time here with beggars or intrested in their business. Having said that you have already made up your mind that we don't have money so why worry? Pakistan taking interest in Russian defence equipment is a good thing. At least it is going to be cheaper than American and European defence equipment. Will it remain table talk or will it amount to some serious deal remains to be seen. Pakistan has a limited budget so we should choose wisely.

Yap its a fact,but lets understand it from this.A highly scientific machine (Almost a mini plant regarding defence ) was never open for almost a decad.completely stored and neglected.And then some one told guys in nuke labs sir we have this in store from this much time
Now you can imagine why some programs are stoped or not showed progress.

MOSCOW - Pakistan and Russia are in talks on sales of helicopters, air defence systems and modernised tanks, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif told Sputnik on Wednesday.

Pakistan is eyeing to modernise its Air Force, Asif said on the sidelines of the fifth Moscow Conference on International Security.

"We are in touch with Russia on different types of weapons such as helicopters.
We are even considering the Russian air defence system and advanced tanks.
We are also exploring possibility to update and modernise our Air Force," Asif said.

According to Asif, Pakistan is seeking to expand its cooperation with Russia in different spheres, including regional security and counter-terrorism.

"We are looking forward to expanding our cooperation with Russia in all facets of our relationship but mostly we are looking forward to increasing our defence cooperation.
We also look forward to working closely on regional peace and in the fight against terrorism," the minister added.

Military ties between the two countries date back to the 1960s, when Pakistan imported defence equipment from the Soviet Union.
In November 2014, Russia and Pakistan signed a deal on cooperation between their defence ministries.

The agreement was followed by a contract for the sale of four Mi-35M transport and attack helicopters to Pakistan, signed in August 2015.

For me Tanks specially T-90 from Russia is a big NO but would prefer Air Defence systems like S-350 and Pantsir S-2 and attack helicopters like MI-28.

I would suggest Admiral Grigorovich class as Pakistan is thinking about something which is modern & affordable.

Pantsir S1 is a great Option for PA AD forces, otherwise Tunguska 2K22.

If i understand the word "modernized" correctly here for tanks, thats to update or bring an already existing structure to newer better standards, can mean Upgraded T-80.

Pakistan and Russia may be warming up, but i wouldn't trust Russia with crucial tech like SAM's and aircraft's. We have decades of hostility, which will take a lot more than few official visits. Russians wouldn't give S-300 to Iran(even when Iran had made the payments) because of the western pressure and now a few delegation exchanges and we are buds? Seriously, Pakistani people need to be a little more objective in their approach and policies.

Pakistan doesn't have many heavy attack helicopter options, so I can see why there's strong interest in the Mi-28NE. But in terms of SHORAD SAM systems like the Pantsir-S2, it might be good, but we have other good options too, such as the Umkhonto-IR or Turkish Hisar-A. I wouldn't buy Russian gear for the sake of making Putin feel good, we should get what we want (e.g. fighter aircraft), or get nothing at all.
