Pakistan intelligence rift shows deepening US frustration: analysts

Who is 'we'? Are you the sole representative of the Pakistani press?

I mean every word I say....the quality of journalism in Pakistan is quite poor. This article in particular is so defensive and the panicky tone robs it of all credibility.

It seems to be a compilation of all the conspiracy theories out there and a mouthpiece of the Pakistan establishment.

And once again, almost all your criticism applies to the Indian media equally - and the old adage of people living in glass houses not casting stones at other applies quite well here.

Your 'criticism that 'you mean every word of', has offered nothing specific to counter the points made in the article - all it revolves around is the 'tone', hardly cause for your histrionics regarding the Pakistani press.

I wasn't planning to counter the article at all...which doesn't mean of course that I cannot counter it....I was simply commenting on the poor quality of most reports I see coming in the Pakistani media.

The quality varies in the Indian media of course, but I can say with some conviction that some newspapers/magazines in India adhere to the highest standards.

If you don't plan on countering the article (whether you can or cannot aside), then no need to make sweeping comments and generalizations about Pakistani journalism. There is probably a thread on the quality of Pakistani journalism somewhere, post over there.

Check the title of this thread.

Well, the article was written by a Pakistani journalist, so I'm assuming its quite fair to comment on Pakistani journalism.

The "sweeping comment" also applies to the said article of course.

Commenting on "Pakistani journalism" after taking exception to one article is a 'sweeping generalization' - especially when you haven't really argued against anything in the article yet, except for the tone.

The "sweeping comment" also applies to the said article of course.

Not at all - I find most of the points the editorial raises to be accurate, and are points many of us have repeatedly argued in this forum.

Your comments on the arguments raised?

I think the quality of the writing should not be misconstrued as "bad journalism". The points being made in the editorial are quite valid.
