Pakistan is not any more interested in J-10 they were in talks during Musharraf's era as for now the deal is off the table. At the moment PAF is focused on JF-17 and intends to make it more lethal with the time. As far as navy is concerned yes it does need a potent fighter. Any Chinese fighter we might see in PAF would be J-31, most probably.

J-11 is a good option but not exactly what Pakistan wants nor is J-10 any good for navy. Naval variant of the thunder with improved avionics, radar and bvr capability would suit our needs.

well whatever they want, but the PN needs good jets, even if they are only a squadron............

Thats what i'm saying, Jf-17 is perfect for Pakistan's defense requirements, we dont need anything else fancy.
but the why isnt the PN buying it? they were given a higher Budget than before last year

Looks like we are having troubles with Jf17 block 2 ........... no news untill now.......... more over issue is the slow production rate of Thunders. and we need new replacements badly and ASAP due to Mirage crashes. so possibly Navy is looking for J10b to neutralize the pressure on production line of thunder, and keep it ''air force only'' project............
but nothing can be said for sure un till a valid source confirms such news

.
Sooner or later PAF will go for a "Delta Wing". Whether Ex-Mirages from some Gulf country or Chinese J10-B/C.
JF17 is a replacement for A5s or F7P but it is not a match for High Altitude, High Loads capacity of Mirage-V

sir we suppose we are buying more AWACS then question is that what abot 11 or 12 AWACS will knowing that we don't really have capable fighters which AWACS can direct.........

If everything is right as said then what is the following?

Sharif: War on terror leaves no time for development

So, no time for development but yes lot of time to buy arms.

I agree we need at least 100 J-10B

There is a lot of activity going on in development. Either you are misinformed or don't have too much insight into Pakistan. 3 years from today, Pakistan will start to grow rapidly (unless a war or serious terrorism breaks out). They are cleaning up their country without mercy. The goal is, like the UK, (but it'll take time to implement), that the weapons only belong to the law enforcements, not to terrorists or gangsters. This chapter of decades is being closed and the militancy, violence and all is being dismantled.
At the SAME time, there are over $ 50 billion worth of projects going on across Pakistan. I don't know who told you there was no time for development. There are a couple of threads on here which show you status on certain infrastructure projects and with pictures. Check that out so you can come up to speed

J-11b is what they are interested in.

This should be the case. Otherwise, they should just get used -16's in numbers, ready to go and increase strength, instead of going for J-10B. With this, numbers are increased right away, and they can focus on J-31 / 5th gen, with more modern JFT.

But if they are wanting J-11B, I've always said it, that was the need of the hour, twin engines, about 4-5 squadrons (2 for dedicated naval support, with 2 dedicated JFT naval support squadrons), the rest 2-3 J-11 squadrons for the PAF, supplemented by AWACS, would be a great force multiplier asset.

GUYS,

MMRCA is happening one way or the other. There has been discussions in the forum that Pakistan might go for J-10 if India inducted Rafael. Now India is inclined twoards Mig-35 or Perhapes Super Su-30s. Isin't that enough reason for us to consider J-10s yet?

Today I was wondering how would a low-high or JF-17 / J-10 combination appear in air-combats? JF-17s are good but they have their strengths and weaknesses, just like J-10 has its strengths and weaknesses. Can we pitch J-10s and JF-17s together in 1:3 or 2:4 combinations to counter enemy aircrafts? How would that play out? Would such a combination improve our prospects against Su-30s, Mirage 2000s and future Indian MMRCA procurement? We would need to defend our skies and invade enemy airspace facing those.

Any thoughts?

Another Question: Which new radar are we going to showcase tomorrow on 23rd March parade?
