Not so unlikely as Pak will not be able to use J31 for multiple tasks so jet like J16 with some stealth and properly build for naval role is much better option considering India's plans to use Sukhois in naval role along with other upgraded jets.

We wont have sukhois for our navy....We will get N_LCA for navy sson

I'm feeling that India is going to get naval varient of Rafale for their Aircraft carriers..

I still think Pakistan navy should have j 16 which are twin engine jet at least 20 to 25 dedicated for have to safeguard against air attacks over sea so Pakistan air force have easy task of complete air superiority in skies

We need around 100 J-10 B at least as for J-16 they can be an option for our Navy may be 2 to 3 sqaudrons

The upcoming JH7B would be a better choice for naval strike missions. It will have all the new gadgets, excellent weapons load---twice that of the JF 17 and will also be able to launch BVR's.

Price is cheaper to start with----so 20---25 JH7B's and 20---25 JF17N would make an excellent strike force for the navy.

I think after India decided to go for Rafale in fly away condition thus cutting time, Pakistan is bound to make a decision. Now its not sure if we are to go for 18 remaining block-52s or J-10B.

My guess is it would be 18 F-16s as we are already familiar with it and hence can absorb it without any hurdle.

first of jh7b shall be advanced version of jh7 no matter up to what extent it is improved it's air combat capabilities will remain limited. It may be used as bomber escorted by other fighter which can be afforded by China not Pak Navy. We neet multirole fihters though limited in numbers should potent enough to counter the naval assets of many times bigger enemy. Instead of getting large number of cheaper jets we should get J16 in limited numbers say may be only 18 but only for strike roles (may not require to be escorted by other fighters). For naval defense roles we should suffice with JF17 block-II, in which there are rumors that two seat version with French engine and may be avionics will be available in near future with 1000 NM combat radius.

j10 b/FC20 most affordable and availble choice for PAF with AESA radar, specially replace old Mirage-III in strike roles.

Though JH-7B is a very good aircraft but it a dedicated bomber. It is capable of penetrating deep into enemy territory but it can not provide a hi-low mix.

The J-16 does give a hi-low mix not just to the JF-17's but also to J-10's so if today Pakistan does go after the J-10b it would be a lot simpler and easier to also have J-16.

Sir you also were going to say something about future PAF.
